Dinâmica digital da maconha: uma abordagem sociológica sobre os perfis das Associações brasileiras de Cannabis medicinal no Instagram

This work analyses the discourse showed by three associations of medicinal cannabis on Instagram: first ABRACE (Brazilian Association of Support on Cannabis Hope), second APEPI (Association of Support for Research and Patients of medicinal cannabis), and, lastly, the Association Curing Ivo. The discussion here presented is jump-started from the positive meaning that these associations transmit and store information in the digital platform. To do so, this work analyses these associations' publications on Instagram and investigates the discursive way in which they conceived ideologies, information, and worldviews about the consumption of marijuana. In this process, it was observed that digital platforms have discursive potential, meaning they convey discourses, and these, in turn, carry power relations. Medical cannabis stands out, and through the consumption of cannabidiol oil, these medical cannabis associations are able to form collectives, spread their ideals, and carry out activities. Additionally, they build a wide network connected to various social actors, contributing to the subversion of the criminal image that the plant has been associated with due to a moral endeavour in the early twentieth century.
