Resumo: | The aim of this study is to investigate the possibilities and strategies employed in local tourism as a sustainable alternative for young people, taking advantage of the tourist potential of the municipality of Poço Redondo, SE. The work makes use of the categories “organic intellectuality” by Antonio Gramsci and “Community-Based Tourism (CBT)”. The methods used are qualitative action research, bibliographical research and content analysis. The construction of the data framework was carried out through thematic workshops on tourist operations and semi-structured interviews, with the aim of getting to know the local tourism environment and verifying the potential of young people for the operationalization of tourism, with special attention to the process of dissemination and direct marketing of tourism products. The results show that, through the Interdisciplinary Training Course in Community-Based Tourism for young people aged 16 to 28 in Curralinho, in the municipality of Poço Redondo, young people who were initially “oblivious” to the tourism potential of their territory have become protagonists in the development of a local tourism product. This study concludes that training and organizing young people can transform the perception and sustainable use of the riverside area, promoting economic development and cultural appreciation of the region. |

O trabalho faz uso das categorias “intelectualidade orgânica”, de Antônio Gramsci e “Turismo de Base Comunitária (TBC). Como métodos, emprega-se a pesquisa-ação de abordagem qualitativa, a pesquisa bibliográfica, a análise de conteúdo. A construção do arcabouço de dados foi realizada por meio de oficinas temáticas em operações turísticas e entrevistas semiestruturadas, com a meta de conhecer a ambiência do turismo local e verificar os potenciais da juventude para a operacionalização do turismo, com especial atenção ao processo de divulgação e comercialização direta dos produtos turísticos. Os resultados demonstram que, por meio do Curso de Formação Interdisciplinar em Turismo de Base Comunitária para jovens de 16 a 28 anos em Curralinho, município de Poço Redondo, a juventude, inicialmente “alheia” às potencialidades turísticas de seu território, tornou- se protagonista no desenvolvimento de um produto turístico local.
