Resumo: | The present work aimed to model the use of rainwater for non-potable purposes at the Instituto Federal de Sergipe – Campus Lagarto, in the city of Lagarto/SE. For this, it was divided into three chapters, where the first addressed the users' perception about the use of rainwater, the second estimated the final uses of water and the third dimensioned the system with the help of the Neptune program. The users' perception was carried out from the application of questionnaires, where it was identified that 86.67% of the users already knew the topic. In addition, nearly 95% of respondents feel comfortable doing at least one activity that does not require drinking water. Increasing index according to level of education and income. Thus, it is concluded that the rainwater system for non-potable activities is accepted by the community of the object of study. The final uses of the building were estimated through the installation of flow sensors in the water outlets of the hydraulic devices, coupled to the electronic project development platform through the Arduino Uno microcontroller. The consumption of toilets, urinals and garden faucets was considered as replaceable by rainwater, thus, on-site monitoring, supported by existing scientific works, defined that the consumption of the aforementioned appliances is equivalent to 45% of the total consumption of the building. Finally, the system that predicts capture, conduction, storage and conduction of rainwater was dimensioned from the Neptune behavioral model, it was necessary to collect and analyze the following data: Precipitation, obtained through government agencies; catchment area, obtained by gauging the architectural project; total demand, collected through the local concessionaire; user acceptability (questionnaires) and water quality, collected and analyzed by a specialized laboratory; and the percentage replaceable by rainwater, obtained by Arduino. After simulating several scenarios, it was defined that the ideal volume of the reservoir for the case study is 107 thousand liters, with a water saving potential of 33.33% and a payback time of 5 years and 10 months, making it viable for implementation at IFS-Campus Lagarto. |
