Resumo: | Schistosomiasis is one of the few endemic diseases that accompany humanity to this day. The research aims to analyze the socio-environmental conditions related to Schistosoma mansoni, creating a software that aggregates such conditions for the monitoring of this endemic disease in the city of Lagarto (SE). Five villages were selected for the survey, which showed the highest rates, namely: Jenipapo, Brasília, Araçá, Araçá I and Araçá II. Thus, the hypothetical-deductive method consisted of perceiving the organization of problems, and contradictions in prior knowledge or in existing theories. It was chosen to optimize the results the use of the qualitative-quantitative methodological approach, and the quantitative data were limited to population aspects related to the amount of infections by residents of the localities. It required a probabilistic sampling in which the balance was based on the number of people for the application of the interviews. Regarding the factors that can contribute to its spread, the socioeconomic factor is considered the most evident in the dynamics of disease transmission. Among the variables studied and related to basic sanitation that help in the proliferation of schistosomiasis, there is the absence of canalization and sewage treatment in rural and urban areas as the effect of possible water contamination, appearing in the manifestation of outbreaks of Biomphalaria glabrata generating consequent eggs of the parasite S. mansoni. The results obtained during the study were shown by the figures, leading to the creation of software to feed data in a faster, more didactic and organized way about waterborne diseases, with a focus on schistosomiasis. This product can be made available in basic health units as well as in zoonoses and endemic control centers, and anyone can handle the inclusion of data referring to each researched location, from villages, municipalities, cities, among others. Finally, it was possible to analyze each variable separately from each village, after georeferencing or geographic coordinates of the locations, thus being able to prepare georeferenced maps that demonstrate the risks of spreading the disease in the villages studied. |
