O suporte digital no ensino de língua portuguesa para a comunidade surda: o caso da obra “As aventuras de Pinóquio em língua de sinais/português”

This research aims to analyze the use of digital media for teaching and learning of the deaf students through the case of the digital textbook "The Adventures of Pinocchio in Sign Language/Portuguese", a deaf literature work, published by Editora Arara Azul in two versions: CD-ROM (2003) and HTML (2015). Expected to assess to what extent the use of digital media in the deaf literature texts contribute to the process of teaching and learning of Portuguese to this community. Within this research the deaf literature includes adapted, translated and deaf written texts. The work in question is a translation, bilingual - Portuguese / Libras, illustrated, toward the deaf community. Given the lack of specific material, the work has also been used with other stakeholders, including teaching English language at different levels. To conduct the survey adopted a qualitative methodology, based on literature and document analysis. The literature of the course is based on: Marcuschi and Xavier (2010), Magnabosco (2009), Lebedeff (2005) Lorenzi and Padua (2012), Perlin (1998), Karnopp (2006, 2008, and 2010), Gomes (2011), Teles and Sousa (2010), Barbosa (2011), Oliveira (2013), Quadros (1997), Mourão (2011), among others. The documentary analysis is based on the project evaluation reports "Collection Classics of Literature in LIBRAS/Portuguese on CD-ROM", which includes discussions of a team of about 200 professionals involved in the production of the collection. The aspects of the adopted philosophical trend were examined, translation structure, integration of text Portuguese language translation of LIBRAS, use of illustrations and adequacy of these elements to be distributed in digital medias like: CD-ROM (2003) and HTML (2015). The results indicate that digital media can exert significant influence on the teaching and learning of the deaf community, enhancing their identity and their culture and so as to overcome, even partially, some critical points of the process. As for the teaching of Portuguese Language it was found that the participation of the teacher or groups involved in the teaching and learning process is decisive for the applicability of the material.
