O estágio totalizou 540 horas e foi realizado no município de Videira, estado de Santa Catarina, na empresa BRF, cuja unidade tem como foco o abate de aves e seu processamento para venda ao mercado externo, seguindo especificações culturais e religiosas através do abate Halal. No período do estágio foi possível acompanhar todas as etapas do processo, desde a chegada das aves ao local até a embalagem e saída das mesmas. Outra atividade que o estágio oportunizou foi a realização de testes dentro do ambiente fabril com ênfase no bem-estar animal e controle de qualidade de carcaça, visando atender as exigências estabelecidas pelo Brasil e principalmente pelo mercado internacional. O estágio permitiu compreender melhor as atividades que o Médico Veterinário pode exercer dentro de uma agroindústria e estimulou o desenvolvimento de competências profissionais essenciais para o campo de atuação escolhido, além de aprimorar habilidades de comunicação, trabalho em equipe, resolução de problemas e liderança.The mandatory internship report for the Veterinary Medicine course aims to describe the activities carried out by the student in order to highlight the acquired learning during the period. The internship totaled 540 hours and was conducted in the municipality of Videira, state of Santa Catarina, at the company BRF, whose unit focuses on poultry slaughter and processing for sale to the international market, following cultural and religious specifications through Halal slaughter. During the internship period, it was possible to follow all stages of the process, from the arrival of the birds to the facility to their packaging and departure. Another activity that the internship provided was the execution of tests within the factory environment, with a focus on animal welfare and carcass quality control, aiming to meet the requirements established by Brazil and, especially, the international market.
