Resumo: The present pig productions systems shows positive and constant technological advances, where there is an intensification in the production systems and a concern with the good management and use of the water resources used for activity. The objective of this dissertation was to measure the volume of water used by growing-finishing pigs in the drinker, to evaluate the existing relationships between dietary and environmental factors that interfere with this value and to generate information on the dynamics of the use of the resource throughout the day (08:00 to 18:00 h). The experiment was carried out at the Swine Sector of the Federal University of Santa Maria and used 60 male pigs (immunocasts) with an average initial weight of 44.43 kg and a final weight of 124.82 kg. The pigs were housed during 12 weeks in building house, arranged in five stalls (2.80 x 5.30 m) with 12 animals. Food and water were provided at will throughout the experimental period. The data of the zootechnical indexes such as temperature and humidity, feed consumption behavior and water were collected in real time during the completely experimental period through a datalogger, FIRE® system and video monitoring, while the volume of water drained in the drinking fountain was measured daily. The generated information was submitted to analysis of variance using the Mixed procedure of statistical software SAS Studio (2017), analysis of descriptive statistics, linear and multiple regression. The water disappearance (WD) in this study was 7.98 L/animal per day, where 29.07 % represented water wasted. The WD presented a linear regression equation with the amount of dry matter ingested (Y = 1.254 + 2.902x, r 2 =0.948, p <0.0001) and cubic polynomial equation with live weight (Y = -4.62133 + 0.40517x -0.00452x2 + 0.00002x3 , r 2 =0.979, p <0.0001). The behavior of water consumption in the period from 08:00 to 18:00 h revealed an increasing pattern in WD throughout the day for both periods, and verified the peak in the afternoon. In the same way, it was observed that the time spent drinking (TSD) and the number of visits to the drinking (NVD) showed a peak in the afternoon. The pigs had an increasing water disappearance pattern throughout the housing period and during the day (8:00 to 18:00 h) independent of the phase, with the period of greatest volume of WD, TSD and NVD concentrated in the after 13:00 h.

O objetivo desta dissertação foi mensurar o volume de água utilizado no bebedouro por suínos na fase de crescimento (24 aos 70 kg) e terminação (71 aos 125 kg), avaliar as relações existentes entre fatores dietéticos e ambientais que interfiram nesse valor e gerar informações sobre a dinâmica de utilização do recurso ao longo do dia (das 8h às 18 h). O experimento foi realizado no Setor de Suínos da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Para tanto, foram utilizados 60 suínos machos (imunocastrados), homogêneos geneticamente, oriundos de criação comercial e com peso médio inicial de 44,43 kg e peso final de 124,82 kg. Os suínos foram alojados durante 12 semanas em galpão de alvenaria, dispostos em cinco baias (2,80 X 5,30 m), com 12 animais por baia. A alimentação e água eram fornecidas à vontade durante todo o período experimental. Os dados dos índices zootécnicos como temperatura e umidade, comportamento de consumo de ração e água foram coletados em tempo real durante todo o período experimental através de um datalogger, sistema FIRE® e de vídeo monitoramento, enquanto o volume de água escoado no bebedouro foi mensurado diariamente. As informações geradas foram submetidas a analises de variância, utilizando o procedimento Mixed do software estatístico SAS Studio (2017), análise de estatísticas descritivas, regressão linear e múltipla. A média do desaparecimento de água (dH2O) dos animais no período estudado foi de 7,98 L.animal -1 .dia -1 , em que 29,07 % deste corresponde ao desperdício de água estimado. A relação do dH2O apresentou uma equação de regressão linear com a quantidade de matéria seca ingerida (Y=1,254+2,902x, r 2 =0,948, p<0,0001) e equação polinomial cúbica com o peso vivo (Y=-4,62133+0,40517x-0,00452x2 +0,00002x3 , r 2 =0,979, p<0,0001). O comportamento de consumo de água, no período das 08h às 18h, revelou um padrão crescente no dH2O ao longo do dia para ambas as fases, sendo o pico de desaparecimento verificado no período da tarde. Da mesma maneira, foi constatado que o tempo de contato com o bebedouro (TCB) e o número de visitas ao bebedouro (NVB) também apresentaram o pico no período da tarde. Os suínos apresentaram um padrão de desaparecimento de água crescente ao longo do período de alojamento e no decorrer do dia (das 8 às 18 horas) independente da fase, com o período de maior volume de dH2O, TCB e NVB concentrados no período após às 13 horas.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências RuraisPrograma de Pós-Graduação em ZootecniaUFSMBrasilZootecniaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDesaparecimento de águaVisitas ao bebedouroTempo ao bebedouroDesperdício de águaWater disappearanceVisit to the drinkingTime spent drinkingWasted waterCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::ZOOTECNIADinâmica da ingestão hídrica de suínos nas fases de crescimento e terminaçãoThe water intake dynamics in growing-finishing pigsinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisOliveira, Vladimir dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7243331220690033Aita, CelsoXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXCeron, Marcos SperoniXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3774544178809953Chimainski, Michael50040000000260035d47188-e656-4cb2-8c3b-a49d447aefbe1f3d9c0e-400f-4957-82bf-ac1fdb355994b46e65b9-e307-4c06-a922-2942f17e7dc55a535f93-b4b9-4ad5-80ee-2e401115eaafreponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGZOOTECNIA_2018_CHIMAINSKI_MICHAEL.pdfDIS_PPGZOOTECNIA_2018_CHIMAINSKI_MICHAEL.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf6515205http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/20726/1/DIS_PPGZOOTECNIA_2018_CHIMAINSKI_MICHAEL.pdf23dd713fda474db845843a9dfe50738cMD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
