Resumo: One of the main factors responsible for the degradation of façades is the humidity, causing the appearance of pathological manifestations and shortening the useful life of the coating. In this way, it becomes necessary to know coatings that are watertight as well as technologically and economically feasible in order to enable the recovery of degraded façades. In this scope, this research aimed at the evaluation of coatings available in the civil construction market, focusing on their watertightness. To this end, a total of twelve coatings were evaluated, of which eight were mortars divided into industrialized and dosed in constructions, and four water repellent film-forming agents. One of the industrialized mortars was used as a reference for comparison, which does not have any waterproofing component. The study was carried out from laboratory tests of permeability to water vapor, water absorption by capillarity, evaporation, tensile strength in flexion and compression. In addition, the existence of a degraded façade due to the action of moisture with a southern solar orientation, located in the city of Santa Maria/RS, allowed a case study from the application of the coatings and in situ tests of permeability to liquid water, absorption and evaporation, thermography and tensile adhesion strength. Also, we performed the cost composition of each coating studied, allowing the cost/benefit analysis. At the end of the fulfillment of all the methodology, it was possible to extract the considerations on the evaluated coatings. Therefore, water repellent coatings have been shown to be more efficient in relation to watertight and have also presented lower application cost when used for the recovery of degraded façades.

Therefore, water repellent coatings have been shown to be more efficient in relation to watertight and have also presented lower application cost when used for the recovery of degraded façades.Um dos principais fatores responsáveis pela degradação de fachadas é a umidade, acarretando o surgimento de manifestações patológicas e diminuição da vida útil do revestimento. Deste modo, torna-se necessário o conhecimento de revestimentos que sejam estanques à água, tecnologicamente e economicamente viáveis, possibilitando a recuperação de fachadas degradas. Neste escopo, esta pesquisa objetivou a avaliação de revestimentos disponíveis no mercado da construção civil, com foco na sua capacidade de estanqueidade à água. Para isto, foram avaliados doze revestimentos, sendo oito argamassas, as quais se dividem em industrializadas e dosadas em obras, e quatro hidrorrepelentes formadores de película. Uma das argamassas industrializadas foi utilizada como referência de comparação, a qual não possui nenhum componente impermeabilizante. Realizou-se o estudo a partir de ensaios laboratoriais de permeabilidade ao vapor de água, absorção de água por capilaridade, evaporação, resistência à tração na flexão e à compressão. E ainda, a existência de uma fachada degrada pela ação da umidade com orientação solar sul, localizada na cidade de Santa Maria/RS, que permitiu um estudo de caso a partir da aplicação dos revestimentos e realização de ensaios in loco de permeabilidade à água líquida, absorção e evaporação, termografia e de resistência de aderência à tração. Também, realizou-se a composição de custos de cada revestimento estudado, permitindo a análise de custo/benefício. Ao final do cumprimento de toda metodologia, foi possível extrair as considerações sobre os revestimentos avaliados. Assim sendo, os revestimentos hidrorrepelentes se mostraram mais eficientes em relação à estanqueidade à água, apresentando, também, menor custo de aplicação quando utilizados com intuito de recuperação de fachadas degradadas.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de TecnologiaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia CivilUFSMBrasilEngenharia CivilAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessArgamassaHidrorrepelenteManifestação patológicaMortarWater repellentPathological manifestationCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA CIVILAvaliação do desempenho à estanqueidade à água de diferentes revestimentos para a recuperação de uma fachada degradadaEvaluation of watertight performance of different coatings for the recovery of a degraded façadeinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisMohamad, Gihadhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5446970753192990Stolz, Carina Marianehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9664121892237031Carasek, Helenahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3023241186996790http://lattes.cnpq.br/5791477292038361Herrmann, Thiana Dias300100000003600821281d4-7dc1-4c12-b084-2d4c1590347a146a9bba-4f4a-4bbd-9d5c-9fed37916c59f1a85a55-a2fc-4c01-934d-626a728c89863fa9ad91-dfc3-4813-99fc-5ac7d56425e6reponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMCC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
