Resumo: | Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have been changing the ways of relating and being in the world. This Master dissertation aimed to reflect on the identity construction process in its interrelation with ICT, based on the adolescent’s knowledge, practices and experiences who study in a school located in a rural municipality of the central region of the state Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brazil. Specifically, we sought to understand how adolescence is conceived in the rural context and how ICT impacts these people’s daily lives, mainly in sexuality and in sexual, reproductive and mental health, as integral elements of the identity dimension. This study is linked to the umbrella project “Politics of Reproduction in the Cyberworld: “Investigations in (Contra)ceptive, (In)fertility and Social Representations of Masculinities/Femininities, approved by the ethics committee”. The umbrella project’s general objective is to reflect on how Reproduction Policies are intertwined with a network of social representations, particularly social representations of masculinities and femininities and to explore the impact that these interlaces have on gender relations, social identities, health and rights. In this research, we aimed to achieve part of this objective, when we propose to approach issues related to the adolescent’s identity configuration and their interrelationships with Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), as well as the ways in which they affect the sexuality exercise and sexual, reproductive and mental health of this social group. Considering that the identity construction has specificities, being the target of studies and discussion subject in many areas of knowledge, an approximation between Cultural Studies (CS) and Social Representations Theory (SRT) was listed, as guiding approaches directed to the identity process. In the analysis and discussion stage the methodological design, this is a qualitative research and used semi-structured interviews as a strategy for approaching and field study. The research’s participants were adolescents from the second grade of a public high school in Lagoa Bonita do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Throughout the construction of the information, during the semi-structured interviews, a question script was used, with themes related to ICT (appropriations and uses), to the life and adolescence context, as well as to the mental health, sexuality and sexual and reproductive health. Regarding the analysis and discussion of the data, the information obtained through semi-structured interviews were analyzed and psychosocially interpreted, based on the procedural approach of the Social Representations Theory and theoretical constructs of Cultural Studies. Results indicate the presence of adolescence representations as a development stage, and not as a process, attributing characteristics such as irresponsibility and instability to the participants, although, at the same time, they are expected to be responsible, to make assertive choices, that help parents/guardians and to be “normal adolescents”.About the ICT uses and appropriations, it was found that they are inserted in the participant’s daily lives, appropriate not only for school assignments and entertainment, but also as an expression form, facilitator of communication and maintenance of social ties, being the ICT important factors in the identity construction process of this group, although their effects on health are still little recognized and known. Regarding the ICT and its effects on the participant’s exercise of sexuality and sexual and reproductive health, it was identified that these have been used as sources of information, especially about IST and pregnancy. However, the information that the participants have access to, is not always adequate, which has led to the reductionism of these dimensions in the preventive and biological scope. |

However, the information that the participants have access to, is not always adequate, which has led to the reductionism of these dimensions in the preventive and biological scope.As Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC) vêm modificando as formas de se relacionar e de ser/estar no mundo. Essa dissertação de mestrado teve como objetivo refletir acerca do processo de construção identitária na sua inter-relação com as TIC, a partir dos saberes, práticas e experiências de adolescentes que estudam em uma escola localizada em um município rural da região central do estado do Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brasil. Em específico, buscou-se compreender como adolescer é concebido no contexto rural e de que modo(s) as TIC impactam o cotidiano dessas pessoas, principalmente no que tange à sexualidade, à saúde sexual e reprodutiva e à saúde mental, enquanto elementos que integram a dimensão identitária. O estudo vincula-se ao projeto guarda-chuva “Políticas de Reprodução no Cibermundo: Investigações em Tecnologias (Contra)Ceptivas, (In)fertilidade e Representações Sociais de Masculinidades/Feminilidades, aprovado pelo comitê de ética”. O objetivo geral do projeto guarda-chuva é refletir sobre como as Políticas de Reprodução estão entrelaçadas com uma rede de representações sociais, particularmente representações sociais de masculinidades e feminilidades e explorar o que esses entrelaçamentos produzem em termos de impacto nas relações de gênero, identidades sociais, saúde e direitos. Na presente pesquisa, buscou-se atender à parte deste objetivo, quando nos propomos a abordar questões referentes à configuração de identidades adolescentes e suas inter-relações com as Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC) e os impactos na saúde desse grupo social. Considerando que a temática da construção identitária possui especificidades, sendo alvo de estudos e discussões nas mais diversas áreas do conhecimento, elencou-se uma aproximação entre Estudos Culturais (EC) e Teoria das Representações Sociais (TRS), enquanto abordagens norteadoras dos olhares direcionados ao processo identitário. Quanto ao delineamento metodológico, trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa que adotou a utilização de entrevistas semiestruturadas como estratégia de aproximação e estudo do campo. Os participantes da pesquisa foram adolescentes de turmas do 2° ano do Ensino Médio, matriculados em uma instituição de ensino pública na cidade de Lagoa Bonita do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Ao longo da construção das informações, durante as entrevistas semiestruturadas, utilizou-se de roteiro de perguntas com temáticas relativas às TIC (apropriações e usos), ao contexto de vida e adolescer, assim como à saúde mental, sexualidade e saúde sexual e reprodutiva. Na etapa da análise e discussão, as informações construídas via entrevistas semiestruturadas foram e interpretadas psicossocialmente, a partir dos pressupostos da abordagem processual da Teoria das Representações Sociais e de constructos teóricos dos Estudos Culturais. Os resultados indicam a presença de representações de adolescência enquanto fase do desenvolvimento, e não como processo, sendo aos(às) participantes atribuídas características como irresponsabilidade e instabilidade, embora, ao mesmo tempo, se espere deles(as) que sejam responsáveis, que façam escolhas assertivas, que ajudem aos pais/responsáveis, que sejam “adolescentes normais”. Acerca dos usos e apropriações das TIC, verificou-se que estão inseridas no cotidiano dos(as) participantes, sendo apropriadas para fins de expressão, comunicação e manutenção de laços sociais. Desse modo, entende-se que as apropriações das TIC constituem fatores importantes no processo de construção identitária desse grupo, embora os efeitos delas na saúde sejam pouco (re)conhecidos entre os(as) participantes. No que versa acerca das TIC e seus efeitos sobre o exercício da sexualidade e da saúde sexual e reprodutiva dos(as) participantes, identificou-se que estas têm sido utilizadas como fontes de informação, sobretudo quanto às IST e gravidez. No entanto, as informações às quais os participantes têm acesso, nem sempre são adequadas, o que tem levado ao reducionismo dessas dimensões ao âmbito preventivo e biológico.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Sociais e HumanasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em PsicologiaUFSMBrasilPsicologiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAdolescênciaIdentidadesTecnologiasRepresentações sociaisEstudos culturaisAdolescenceIdentitiesTechnologiesCultural studiesSocial representationsCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::PSICOLOGIATecnologias da informação e comunicação (TIC) e construção identitária: diálogos com adolescentes em uma escolaInformation and communication technologies (ICT) and identity construction: dialogues with adolescents in a schoolinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisRoso, Adrianehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5781004524826262Quiroga, Fernando LionelPatias, Naiana Dapievehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7987438960953347Santos, Catiele dos700700000001600600600af1d6cdb-4330-4705-bd00-18eedf4c9807ddb7be1c-2161-4f19-9375-0b107c8cff93df0ce6b1-b86d-4e75-872e-a8675f69ca7c73760eee-52cd-4989-b66a-564fe1fa2809reponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGPSICOLOGIA_2021_SANTOS_CATIELE.pdfDIS_PPGPSICOLOGIA_2021_SANTOS_CATIELE.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf1794434http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/23201/1/DIS_PPGPSICOLOGIA_2021_SANTOS_CATIELE.pdfbd38222551ca02e823adbca945c78f30MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
