Resumo: In the face of population growth, the natural resources are being overused by the inhabitants of the planet. Historically, sites for the allocation of cemeteries were chosen due to their low economic value, and without any previous geological and hydrogeological studies, so that the soil and water could be exposed to several contaminants. The objective of this work was to determine the soil and groundwater contamination potential in the area of influence of the municipal cemetery of Caçapava do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul. It has a surficial area to the 0,018 km2. In the determination of the physical characteristics of the soil, was carried out by means of the Guelph permeameter and determined the infiltration coefficient in 7 distinct points. The subsurface was also carried out by means of the geophysical technique of electrically conducting the electric resistance, which allows evaluating anomalies in the resistivity values and from this estimate the geological material that composes the subsoil. The use of the GOD system for evaluation of the aquifer pollution vulnerability. The metal concentration present in water and soil were determined using the Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry technique. According to the physical characteristics of the soil, a highly permeable soil was identified. In relation to the infiltration coefficient, values range between 21 to 85 L/m2.day. So the physical techniques indicated a wide variability in the constitution of soils, regolith and granite rock. The subsurface of the terrain was investigated in 6 cable sections. Through the resistivities were identified materials from the weathering of granite, consolidated rock and the saturated zone in water and salts beneath of the soil. With the application of the GOD system it was estimated the class of extreme vulnerability to aquifer where the cemetery is implanted. From the chemical characteristics of the groundwater, several elements were below the Limit of Quantification established by the directive Nº 2914/2011 of M.S. The Manganese presented high values, being in disagreement with the quality reference values of the groundwater. The concentrations of the elements present in the soil include Zinc, Copper and Lead, which may come from funeral props such as metal coils of coffins and paints and varnishes used to preserve wood. Barium presented concentrations possibly being of natural origin. Sodium showed elevated concentrations, which may be an indication of soil contamination by cemetery leachate, since it is a solution rich in salts. The soil was classified as class 3 according to CONAMA 420/2009. The results of this work show that the choice of an area for implantation of cemetery activity must be carried out with great care, not only aiming at the lowest financial cost, but also the environmental sustainability. So we conclude that the use of improper areas do not come to compromise the quality of the environment and life of the people living in the vicinity of these places.

So we conclude that the use of improper areas do not come to compromise the quality of the environment and life of the people living in the vicinity of these places.Diante do crescimento populacional, os recursos naturais são utilizados de forma excessiva pelos habitantes do planeta. Historicamente, locais para alocação de cemitérios eram escolhidos devido ao seu baixo valor econômico, sem a realização de nenhum tipo de estudo prévio geológico e hidrogeológico, podendo assim o solo e as águas estarem expostos a diversos contaminantes. Assim, esse trabalho teve por objetivo determinar o potencial de contaminação do solo e da água subterrânea na área de influência do cemitério municipal de Caçapava do Sul no Rio Grande do Sul, com área de 1,8 hectares. Na determinação das características físicas do solo foram realizados o teste de permeabilidade por meio do permeâmetro de Guelph e determinado o coeficiente de infiltração em 7 pontos distintos. Também foi realizada uma investigação na subsuperfície através da técnica geofísica da eletrorresistividade com caminhamento elétrico que permite avaliar anomalias nos valores de resistividade, e a partir disso, estimar o material geológico que compõe o subsolo. A determinação da vulnerabilidade natural do aquífero à contaminação foi realizada utilizando o método GOD. Os íons metálicos presentes na água e no solo foram determinados utilizando a técnica de Espectrometria de Emissão Atômica com Plasma Acoplado Indutivamente e Espectrometria de Massa com Plasma Indutivamente Acoplado. De acordo com as características físicas do solo, identificou-se um solo altamente permeável e com valores de coeficiente de infiltração variando entre 21 e 85 L/m2.dia, assim as técnicas físicas indicaram uma ampla variabilidade na constituição dos solos, do regolito e da rocha granítica. Investigou-se a subsuperfície do terreno em 6 perfis de caminhamento elétrico. Por meio das resistividades obtidas foram identificados os materiais oriundos do intemperismo do granito, rocha sã e a zona saturada em água com sais, onde ocorre um risco maior de contaminação da água subterrânea. Com a aplicação do sistema GOD estimou-se a classe de extrema vulnerabilidade onde o cemitério está implantado. A partir das características químicas da água subterrânea, vários elementos ficaram abaixo do Limite de Quantificação, o Manganês apresentou valores elevados, estando em desacordo com os valores de referência de qualidade estabelecidos pela Portaria Nº 2914/2011 do M.S. Já as concentrações dos elementos presentes no solo, destacam-se o Zinco, o Cobre e o Chumbo, podendo esses ser oriundos dos adereços fúnebres como as alças metálicas dos caixões e tintas e vernizes utilizados na conservação da madeira. O Bário apresentou concentrações elevadas, possivelmente sendo de origem natural. O Sódio apresentou concentrações elevadas, o que pode ser um indício de contaminação do solo por necrochorume, visto que é uma solução rica em sais. O solo foi classificado como classe 3 de acordo com CONAMA 420/2009. Os resultados deste trabalho mostram que a escolha de uma área para implantação de atividade de cemitério deve ser realizada com muito cuidado, não visando apenas o menor custo financeiro, mas sim a sustentabilidade ambiental para que o uso de áreas impróprias não venham a comprometer a qualidade do meio ambiente e de vida das pessoas que vivem nas proximidades desses locais.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de TecnologiaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia AmbientalUFSMBrasilEngenharia AmbientalAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAquíferoCemitérioContaminação do solo e subsoloÍons metálicosAquiferCemeteryContamination of soil and subsoilMetal ionsCNPQ::ENGENHARIASImpactos ambientais em área ocupada por necrópole no município de Caçapava do Sul-RSEnvironmental impacts in the necropole area in the municipality of Caçapava do Sul-RSinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisSilva, Jose Luiz Silverio dahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9689434318472831Carissimi, Elvishttp://lattes.cnpq.br/4642912749433316Mortari, Sergio Robertohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7784609477475171http://lattes.cnpq.br/3453603127814810Fernandes, Gabriel D'Avila3000000000096002cd2a365-ea74-45eb-bf9f-ce285eecd26c5dff8017-33ba-44fe-b894-125f938197d77de57ef3-403a-41e8-8638-d72ec944eac73c621a6d-38be-4e61-b644-40b0cc92afcbreponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGEA_2017_FERNANDES_GABRIEL.pdfDIS_PPGEA_2017_FERNANDES_GABRIEL.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf6629772http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/14584/1/DIS_PPGEA_2017_FERNANDES_GABRIEL.pdf3d1b8d6871f02fcde13fa7e03b945cdaMD51LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
