Resumo: | This work focuses on the synthesis of advanced polymeric nanogels with the purpose of using them as high performance stabilizing agents for the synthesis of hybrid nanoparticles containing gold or palladium and in the application of these nanoparticles as catalysts. In this way, an optimization study of the best polymerization conditions of functional monomers capable of conferring specific properties to the nanogels was carried out. An one-pot activators regenerated by electron transfer-atom transfer radical polymerization (ARGET-ATRP) methodology was utilized. Subsequently, tests were carried out with different cross linkers for the nanogels preparation using the one-pot two-step methodology. In the second stage of this work, the catalytic activity of the hybrid nanoparticles was confirmed by the p-nitrophenol (pNF) reduction reaction model that presented higher values of reaction rate constants (k) for the nanogel based systems, emphasizing their dependence on the stabilizing agent structure. Palladium-based catalysts may also mediate Suzuki coupling reactions by providing the expected products in quantitative yields under relatively mild conditions (50 ° C for 4h). |

This work focuses on the synthesis of advanced polymeric nanogels with the purpose of using them as high performance stabilizing agents for the synthesis of hybrid nanoparticles containing gold or palladium and in the application of these nanoparticles as catalysts. |
