Dentistry is a profession that involves suveral risks, among them the biological agents are a serious threat to the professional s health as much as to the patient s and team s health. Learning to control there risks is a goal to be reached, where education must begin at the student s academic period. This study was accomplished at the dentistry course at the Federal University of Santa Maria and its main goal was to propose a system of risk management from a biosafety diagnosis. This diagnosis was carried out through the application of a checklist which evaluated actions developed by the students (through observation and interview), by the biosecurity management that the course has (through interview with the coordinator) and by the clinic physical structure (clinic observation). The collected data were analyzed and represented through graphic tables. It follows that the students lock a deeper engagement in relation to the infection control measures; that the discipline of biosecurity and ergonomics would be appropriate and that the physical structure of the clinics must adequate to the legal demands, in order to turn the performance casier in a more ergonomical way, helping educe occupational risks.
