Resumo: Introduction: Living with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and becoming pregnant is a reproductive right guaranteed to women and, in order for it to be exercised safely, it is the duty of health professionals to provide quality care. The use of educational resources is a tool that can help health professionals by objectively translating information to the group of interest. Objective: to create, validate the appearance and evaluate the website on the clinical management of pregnant women, puerperal women and newborns for the prophylaxis of vertical transmission of HIV, by the interest group of health professionals. Method: development and innovation research structured by the Conceptual Model of Knowledge Translation. The synthesis of the textual content was based on protocols and technical standards from the Ministry of Health. The image content was developed by a professional graphic designer. Based on the synthesis of the content and the development of the images, the website was chosen as the tool and product of knowledge due to the advantage of being displayed on different screen sizes (mobile and desktop modes) and free access in an institutional virtual environment. For the focus group evaluation, 65 professionals (doctors and nurses) who work in primary, specialized and hospital care in a municipality on the western border of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, took part. They answered the Instrument for the Validation of Appearance of Educational Technologies in Health (IVATES) and the Assistive Technology Assessment Instrument (IATA). Quantitative variables with a normal distribution were described by mean and standard deviation. Ethical aspects were respected in accordance with resolutions 466/12 and 510/16. Results: An informative website was developed with text and image content about diagnosis, treatment and follow-up for prophylaxis of mother-to-child transmission of HIV. The website was rated as adequate (overall mean IATA = 1.91, SD = 0.16), with a score of 1.93 for clarity, 1.92 for interactivity, 1.91 for relevance and effectiveness and 1.90 for objectivity. The appearance validity was excellent (IVA-T = 0.93). The Cronbach's alpha of the IATA was 0.852 and of the IVATES 0.956, indicating the reliability of these instruments with this population. The focus group pointed out that the website is attractive, didactic/informative, with easy language and self-explanatory and practical. Conclusion: the PREVIVA website is a tool based on scientific evidence, with text and image content suitable for use by health professionals, freely and easily accessible and validated to support the clinical management of pregnant women in diagnosis, treatment and follow-up, with a view to prophylaxis of vertical transmission of HIV.
