Resumo: This research focuses on the mapping of geotechnical units, which is crucial due to the scarcity of maps of this type in Brazil. This mapping is vital for professionals to understand the geological, hydrogeological, physical and mechanical characteristics of regional soils. For an effective geotechnical study, various information is analyzed, such as soil profiles, geomorphology, topography, geology, hydrography, wells, satellite images, field and laboratory tests. Geotechnical maps help in making urban, financial, construction, urban sprawl, and environmental preservation decisions. The main objective was to create a map of the geotechnical units for the Camobi Leaf (RS), at a scale of 1:50,000. The methodology used was based on successful criteria in southern Brazil, such as those established by IAEG, EESC/USP, IPT and Maciel Filho (1990). The study used geoprocessing to spatialize the information and produce the final geotechnical map. The research began with the elaboration of preliminary and thematic maps of the area, based on the official maps available, followed by an extensive literature review of the last three decades, involving field and laboratory tests for physical, chemical and soil resistance characterization in the Folha de Camobi area. The map of the geotechnical units of the Camobi Sheet identifies three surface formations (Unit I.a - Colluvial Deposits, Unit I.b - Floodplain River Deposits and Unit I.c - Terrace Deposits) and six types of rock substrates and residual soil (Unit II - Rhoylites and Rhodacytes, Unit III - Basalts and Diabases, Unit IV - Sandstones with large cross-stratification, Unit V: Unit V.a - Fine to medium sandstones, pink to light grey; Unit V.b - Reddish siltstones with sandstone lenses; Unit VI - Clayey Siltstones with parallel flat stratification and Unit VII - Sandstones with channeled cross-stratification). The geotechnical map of the region provides information on soils, rocks and aquifers, highlighting areas susceptible to groundwater contamination, especially in urbanized regions. Locations of high vulnerability include the geotechnical units I.c, I.b, and VII at the bottom of the map. The results of the boreholes indicated an increase in penetration resistance with depth. In Unit I.c – Terrace Deposits, the resistance varied at different depths. Unit VI showed the highest average resistance, while Unit VII recorded maximum values of NSPT at some depths.

Locais de alta vulnerabilidade incluem as unidades geotécnicas I.c, I.b e VII na parte inferior do mapa.
