Resumo: In this work, a method was developed for the determination of Ca in petroleum using colorimetry with digital images with the PhotoMetrix application. For this purpose, a portable system was used based on the capture of digital images by an endoscopic camera and the processing and treatment of the images was done using the PhotoMetrix PRO application. The colorimetric analysis was based on complexation reactions with Ca using calcein, murexide and calcon. The pH parameters and concentration of each complexing agent necessary for the formation of stable complexes with Ca were evaluated. A three variable Doehlert matrix (DOE), quadratic model, was also used to evaluate the influences of the total volume of solution (1 to 2 mL), camera focal length (2 to 20 mm) and light intensity (30 at 180 lx) for digital image acquisition. Finally, the regions of interest for capturing digital images (32x32, 64x64 and 128x128 pixels) were optimized and the possible interference caused by the presence of magnesium was evaluated. After the capture of the images, the data were processed in the PhotoMetrix PRO application using the multivariate calibration model by the partial least squares (PLS) method. ASTM D4807 was evaluated as a sample preparation method for further determination of Ca in petroleum samples. Therefore, the saline species contained in the crude oil were isolated in a 0.45 μm membrane after filtration, as recommended by the ASTM D4807 standard. The proposed method with optimized conditions was applied to 5 crude oil samples with Ca concentrations ranging from 5 to approximately 900 mg kg-1, to evaluate the predictive capacity of the model. The results of the proposed method were compared with the values obtained by the solubilization of the petroleum samples with determination by ICP OES and also with the values obtained by microwave-assisted wet digestion using single reaction chamber (MAWD-SRC) with determination by ICP OES, as reference methods. Determination coefficients greater than 0.997 were obtained for the calibration models built for the three complexing agents, using 5 factors. RMSECV values of 0.26, 0.35 and 0.32 mg L-1 were obtained for the regression models for calcein, murexide and calcon, respectively. No significant differences were observed between the proposed method and the reference methods (ANOVA, 95% confidence interval). The detection and quantification limits were 0.62 and 2.05 mg kg-1, 0.12 and 0.40 mg kg-1 and 0.15 and 0.51 mg kg-1, for the complexing agents calcein, murexide and calcon, respectively. No significant interference of magnesium was observed in petroleum samples used in this work. Finally, the colorimetric method by digital images with PhotoMetrix is considered a viable alternative for the determination of Ca crude oil samples, due to its possibility of miniaturization, low cost, operational ease and speed in obtaining and processing digital images.

Finally, the colorimetric method by digital images with PhotoMetrix is considered a viable alternative for the determination of Ca crude oil samples, due to its possibility of miniaturization, low cost, operational ease and speed in obtaining and processing digital images.Nesse trabalho foi desenvolvido um método para a determinação de Ca em petróleo utilizando a colorimetria com imagens digitais com o aplicativo PhotoMetrix. Para isso, foi utilizado um sistema portátil baseado na captura de imagens digitais por uma câmera endoscópica e o processamento e tratamento das imagens foi feito utilizando o aplicativo PhotoMetrix PRO. A análise colorimétrica foi baseada nas reações de complexação com o Ca usando calceína, murexida e calcon. Foram avaliados os parâmetros de pH e concentração de cada complexante necessária para a formação de complexos estáveis com o Ca. Também foi utilizado um planejamento de experimentos do tipo Doehlert, modelo quadrático, de três variáveis, para avaliar as influências do volume total de solução (1 a 2 mL), distância focal da câmera (2 a 20 mm) e intensidade de luz (30 a 180 lx) para a aquisição das imagens digitais. Por último, foram otimizadas as regiões de interesse para a captura das imagens digitais (32x32, 64x64 e 128x128 pixels) e avaliadas as possíveis interferências causadas pela presença de magnésio. Após a captura das imagens, os dados foram processados no aplicativo PhotoMetrix PRO utilizando o modelo de calibração multivariada pelo método dos mínimos quadrados parciais (PLS). A norma ASTM D4807 foi avaliada como método de preparo de amostras para posterior determinação de Ca nas amostras de petróleo. Diante disso, foi feito o isolamento das espécies salinas contidas no petróleo em membrana de 0,45 μm após filtração, como preconizado pela norma ASTM D4807. O método proposto, com as condições otimizadas, foi aplicado para 5 amostras de petróleo com concentrações de Ca variando de 5 até aproximadamente 900 mg kg-1, para avaliar a capacidade preditiva do modelo. Os resultados do método proposto foram comparados com os valores obtidos pelas solubilizações das amostras de petróleo e também, com os valores obtidos pela digestão por via úmida assistida por radiação micro-ondas em sistema com câmara única de reação (MAWD-SRC) com determinação por ICP OES, como métodos de referência. Coeficientes de determinação superiores a 0,997 foram obtidos para os modelos de calibração construídos para os três complexantes, com a utilização de 5 fatores. Valores de RMSECV de 0,26, 0,35 e 0,32 mg L-1 foram obtidos para os modelos de regressão para a calceína, murexida e calcon, respectivamente. Não foram observadas diferenças significativas entre o método proposto e os métodos de referência (ANOVA, intervalo de 95% de confiança). Os limites de detecção e quantificação foram 0,62 e 2,05 mg kg-1, 0,12 e 0,40 mg kg-1 e 0,15 e 0,51 mg kg-1, para os complexantes calceína, murexida e calcon, respectivamente. Não foi observada interferência significativa do magnésio nas amostras de petróleo utilizadas neste trabalho. Por fim, o método colorimétrico por imagens digitais com PhotoMetrix é considerado uma alternativa viável para a determinação de Ca em amostras de petróleo, devido a sua possibilidade de miniaturização, baixo custo, facilidade operacional e rapidez na obtenção e processamento das imagens digitais.Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPqporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Naturais e ExatasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em QuímicaUFSMBrasilQuímicaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPetróleoCálcioImagens digitaisCalibração multivariadaPhotoMetrixCrude oilCalciumDigital imagesMultivariate calibrationCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::QUIMICADeterminação de cálcio em petróleo utilizando colorimetria com imagens digitaisDetermination of calcium in crude oil using colorimetry with digital imagesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisMüller, Edson Irineuhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5994311290376153Bizzi, Cezar AugustoCosta, Adilson Ben daDuarte, Fábio Andreihttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5182761845028144Baumann, Luiza1006000000006006006006006006004e7df89a-0ba0-4c75-958f-19ced0bb95c367925f22-326a-4068-bf06-1cca5d73286e3a4bcf06-d39b-4d7a-b7fa-13c813afd8a38fd7d402-38cb-487a-ae04-60b751dc48d67b2cc41c-5584-4228-a9bf-b1eb4d91e1e4reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
