Resumo: Aphasia is caused by focal cerebral lesion in the dominant hemisphere for language, which can affect communication, social functioning, and quality of life. Moreover, it can cause damages on communication in both oral and written modalities, expressive and/or comprehensive, such as anomie. The anomie is a disorder commonly found in expressive aphasic cases an among the several known therapeutic proposals, the model of word retrieval is a widely used method, since it stimulates the production of words at the level of vocabulary and syntactic organization. The aim of this research was to verify the effects of the therapeutic method of word retrieval in an individual with expressive aphasia. AL, male 47 years old, 8 years of schooling, presented two episodes of ischemic stroke in the left cerebral hemisphere. First, the sociocultural and health questionnaire was applied, and then were the following pre and post-therapy evaluations: Montreal-Toulouse Language Assessment Battery (MTL-BR Battery), Brief Neuropsychological Assessment Instrument (NEUPSILIN-Af), Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Functional Assessment Scale for Communication Skills (ASHA-FACS). The MTL-BR and NEUPSILIN-Af battery instruments were analyzed in a qualitative way, through the patient’s and/or relatives’ information through ASHA-FACS, and in a quantitative way, from the calculation of the Z score ≤ 1.50. The MMSE was analyzed from the total score obtained compared to the normative group. The evaluations were performed by a speech therapist with experience in aphasia evaluation and the therapy was conducted by the author of this study. Before the beginning of the intervention itself, an examination with 50 nouns and 50 verbs was applied to obtain data regarding post-interventional performance regarding the ability of naming. Fifteen word retrieval treatment sessions were assigned to the patient, twice a week, lasting 50 minutes each. After the treatment period, the pre- and post-intervention data of the examination and evaluations were compared, and it was found evolution in several linguistic and cognitive aspects of the individual, with emphasis on the tasks of speech, attention, memory, recall, calculation and also in items regarding aspects of the patient’s daily social communication. The therapeutic approach was effective for the presented case, due to the improvement of several linguistic and cognitive areas that were uncorrected, contributing to a significant improvement in the level of the existing deficit at the beginning of the intervention.

Além disso, pode trazer prejuízos tanto na modalidade oral como escrita, expressiva e/ou compreensiva, como, a anomia. A anomia é um distúrbio comumente encontrado em quadros afásicos expressivos e dentre as diversas propostas terapêuticas conhecidas, o modelo de recuperação de palavras é um método bastante utilizado, pois estimula a produção de palavras ao nível de vocabulário e organização sintática. O objetivo da presente pesquisa foi verificar os efeitos do método terapêutico de recuperação de palavras em um indíviduo com afasia expressiva. AL, sexo masculino, 47 anos de idade, 8 anos de escolaridade, apresentou dois episódios de acidente vascular cerebral (AVC) isquêmico no hemisfério cerebral esquerdo. Primeiramente foi administrado o Questionário sociocultural e de aspectos de saúde para pacientes com AVC e posteriormente, as seguintes avaliações pré e pós-terapia: Bateria Montreal-Toulouse de Avaliação da Linguagem (Bateria MTL-BR), Instrumento de Avaliação Neuropsicológica Breve adaptada- (NEUPSILIN-Af), Mini Exame do Estado Mental (MEEM) e Escala de Avaliação Funcional das Habilidades de Comunicação (ASHA-FACS). A análise dos instrumentos foi realizada de forma qualitativa através de informações do paciente e/ou familiares pelo ASHA-FACS e de forma quantitativa, a partir do cálculo do escore Z (≤-1,50), para a Bateria MTL-BR e para o NEUPSILIN-Af. O MEEM foi analisado a partir do escore total obtido comparado ao grupo normativo. As avaliações foram realizadas por uma fonoaudióloga com experiência em avaliação nas afasias e a terapia foi conduzida pela autora deste estudo. Antes do início da intervenção propriamente dita, foi aplicada uma sondagem com 25 substantivos e 25 verbos para obter dados referentes ao desempenho pós-intervenção terapêutica quanto a capacidade de nomeação. Foram destinadas 15 sessões de terapia de recuperação de palavras ao paciente, duas vezes por semana, durante 50 minutos cada. Após o período de tratamento, comparou-se os dados pré e pós-intervenção da sondagem e das avaliações e encontrou-se evolução em diversos aspectos linguísticos e cognitivos do indivíduo, com destaque para as tarefas de discurso, atenção, memória, evocação, cálculo e ainda em itens referentes a aspectos de comunicação social diária do paciente. A abordagem terapêutica foi eficaz para o caso em questão devido a melhora de diversos âmbitos linguísticos e cognitivos que estavam defasados, contribuindo para uma melhora significativa no nível do déficit que apresentava no início da intervenção.Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPqporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências da SaúdePrograma de Pós-Graduação em Distúrbios da Comunicação HumanaUFSMBrasilFonoaudiologiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAfasiaAdultoReabilitaçãoAphasiaAdultRehabilitationCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::FONOAUDIOLOGIAIntervenção fonoaudiológica em afasia expressivaSpeech and language therapy intervention in expressive aphasiainfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisPagliarin, Karina Carlessohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8613213743222996Oliveira, Camila Rosa deKeske-Soares, Marciahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7242504886331355Silveira, Arieli Bastos da40070000000360060060060060038fee46f-2abe-4479-a985-b9bddb31d1e5493c000b-7485-4c68-bf9b-22682a4acea7dc6693dc-3a9e-4352-9074-4e6817df1ce09978a70d-d7a1-4f0e-a8a6-74b5d347938breponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGDCH_2018_SILVEIRA_ARIELI.pdfDIS_PPGDCH_2018_SILVEIRA_ARIELI.pdfDissertaçãoapplication/pdf1234778http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/20660/1/DIS_PPGDCH_2018_SILVEIRA_ARIELI.pdfe00ecf32df4077b36d101f3f24a10d1bMD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
