This research, from the Master's Degree in Public Policy and Educational Management of the Education Center of the Federal University of Santa Maria (CE/UFSM), has as its theme "Document Management of the Sectoral Archive and the Construction of the Institutional Memory of the Education Center of the Federal University of Santa Maria." It aims to understand the possible relationships between the archival practices developed in the Sectoral Archive of the Education Center/UFSM and the construction of the Institutional Memory of the CE and UFSM. The methodology used is based on bibliographic and documentary research that uses the information made available in the Sectoral Archive of the Education Center (ASCE/UFSM) as a source of research and information, within the scope of the institution from 2013 to 2025. The theoretical framework was organized based on the following authors: Theodore Roosevelt Schellenberg (American Archivist, 2004); Heloisa Liberalli Belloto (Brazilian Archivist, 2002); Marilena Leite Paes (Brazilian Archivist, 2004); Ieda Pimentel Bernardes (Historian – Specialist in Archive Organization, 1998), Icléia Thiesen (Professor at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro / UNIRIO, 2013); Robert Kuo Zuir Yin (American Social Scientist, Specialist in Case Study and Qualitative Research, 2001), Brazilian National Archives and National Council of Archives. The presented product aims to propose a Documentary Inventory of the ASCE/UFSM, which contributes to the systematization, organization, and access to the institutional memory of the CE/UFSM. It is worth highlighting that archival practices are in line with the management of public policies and regulations in the area of archival science.
