Resumo: The basis of this dissertation is on necessity of more knowledge about the biodiversity and your potentials and, after that take actions for your appreciation, dissemination and conservation. The first paper presents the status of knowledge about elements of selection of native species for use in landscaping and in floral art, to include them in cultivation research and final uses. Through a meta-analysis we select 79 publications, from which we obtained 54 characters of selection that were grouped into aesthetic, ecological, technical-economic, and cultural. The publications distribution by countries revealed potential for research growth in the global context. The participation of groups in the selection context was aesthetic (26%), technical-economical (39%), ecological (22%), and cultural (13%). The characters of the ecological group highlighted the importance of ornamental native species in the face of global environmental problems. The technical-economic aspects revealed the substantial practical-executive foundation in the definition of species. The cultural aspects supported the complexity of the social factors involved and allowed the discussion of aspects such as the standardization of consumption habits and cultural barriers to the use of native species. The selection context is strongly aligned with systemic thinking, demonstrating that there are multidisciplinary subsidies for the selection of ornamental species. However, there are challenges in popularizing these characters and generate knowledge that can respond to them with species data. Assuming the multiple uses of native plants to conservation, mitigation of biodiversity loss and to reduce the effects of global climatic crisis, in the second paper we show the experiment results about high-density direct seeding for 12 native ornamental species of Pampa biome, we analyzed 14 variables derived from paper 1 and related with cultivation response and ornamental expression. We analyzed the time of seedling emergence, expression of landscape interest, response to rainfall, frost and soil, height growth, ground cover, duration of landscape interest, flowering period, fruiting period, length and productivity of stems, and multiple uses. We verified the resistance and rusticity of the species, although the drought delayed the reproductive expression in Achyrocline satureioides (Lam.) DC. and Andropogon bicornis L. and reduced the potential expression for Solidago chilensis Meyen in the first spring-summer period, all species produced fully in the following spring-summer period. Saccharum angustifolium (Nees) Trin. did not fully develop, expressing lower productive potential due to dry soil. In general, we obtained very positive results, both for cultivation and ornamental expression for A. satureioides, Austroeupatorium inulaefolium (Kunth) R.M.King & H.Rob., Baccharis spicata (Lam.) Baill., Campuloclinium macrocephalum (Less.) DC., Orthopappus angustifolius (Sw.) Gleason, S. chilensis, Vernonanthura nudiflora H.Rob., A. bicornis, Bothriochloa laguroides (DC.) Herter and Eustachys distichophylla (Lag.) Nees. We recommend tests with C. pedunculosa seeds and new S. angustifolium cultivation in sites with high water availability. With this research we give an important step towards the expression of native species from Pampa biome in the gardens and floral art.

O capítulo 1 aborda o estado da arte de aspectos de seleção de espécies nativas ornamentais, para uso em paisagismo e arte floral, inserção em pesquisas de cultivo e usos finais. Através de uma meta-análise selecionamos 79 publicações, obtivemos 54 caracteres de seleção e os agrupamos em estéticos, ecológicos, técnico-econômicos e culturais. A distribuição das publicações por países revelou potencial para crescimento da pesquisa na conjuntura global. Rejeitamos a hipótese inicial de que aspectos estéticos são os mais influentes sobre a seleção de espécies. A participação dos grupos no contexto de seleção foi: estéticos (26%), técnico-econômicos (39%), ecológicos (22%) e culturais (13%). Os caracteres do grupo ecológico evidenciaram a importância das espécies nativas ornamentais diante das problemáticas ambientais globais. Itens técnico-econômicos revelaram a substancial fundamentação prático-executiva para a definição de espécies. Aspectos culturais corroboraram a complexidade dos fatores sociais envolvidos, permitiram discutir aspectos como a padronização dos hábitos de consumo e barreiras culturais ao uso de espécies nativas. O contexto de seleção se alinha fortemente ao pensamento sistêmico, demonstrando que existem subsídios multidisciplinares para seleção de espécies ornamentais. Porém, existem desafios de popularização destes caracteres e de geração de conhecimento para responder a eles com dados das espécies. Considerando os usos múltiplos da flora enquanto ferramenta de conservação, mitigação da perda de biodiversidade e dos efeitos da crise climática global, no capítulo 2 demonstramos resultados do experimento de cultivo de 12 espécies nativas do bioma Pampa, por semeadura direta em alta densidade, avaliando 14 variáveis oriundas do capítulo 1 e associadas ao cultivo e expressão ornamental. Analisamos o tempo da emergência e até a expressão do interesse paisagístico, resposta à precipitação pluviométrica, a geadas e ao solo, crescimento em altura, cobertura de solo, duração do interesse paisagístico, período de floração, frutificação, comprimento e produtividade das hastes e usos múltiplos. Somente a espécie Chromolaena pedunculosa (Hook. & Arn.) R.M.King & H.Rob. não germinou. Verificamos a resistência e rusticidade das espécies, porém a estiagem atrasou a expressão reprodutiva em Achyrocline satureioides (Lam.) DC. e Andropogon bicornis L. e reduziu a expressão potencial para Solidago chilensis Meyen no primeiro período de primavera-verão, porém todas produziram plenamente no período de primavera-verão seguinte. Saccharum angustifolium (Nees) Trin. não se desenvolveu plenamente, expressando menor potencial produtivo devido ao sítio drenado. No geral obtivemos resultados muito positivos, tanto para cultivo quanto expressão ornamental para A. satureioides, Austroeupatorium inulaefolium (Kunth) R.M.King & H.Rob., Baccharis spicata (Lam.) Baill., Campuloclinium macrocephalum (Less.) DC., Orthopappus angustifolius (Sw.) Gleason, S. chilensis, Vernonanthura nudiflora H.Rob., A. bicornis, Bothriochloa laguroides (DC.) Herter e Eustachys distichophylla (Lag.) Nees. Recomendamos testes com as sementes de C. pedunculosa e novos cultivos de S. angustifolium em sítios de alta disponibilidade hídrica. Com esta pesquisa damos um importante passo na direção da expressão da flora nativa do bioma Pampa nos jardins e na arte floral.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências RuraisPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia FlorestalUFSMBrasilRecursos Florestais e Engenharia FlorestalAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessConservação da floraPaisagismo naturalista contemporâneoPotencial ornamentalSemeadura diretaUsos ornamentais da floraPlant conservationContemporary naturalistic landscapeDirect seedingOrnamental potentialPlant huntingCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::RECURSOS FLORESTAIS E ENGENHARIA FLORESTALPlantas ornamentais nativas: elementos para seleção e cultivo de doze espécies do bioma PampaOrnamental native plants: elements for selection and cultivation of twelve species from pampa biomeinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisRovedder, Ana Paula Moreirahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5274469660466638Pastore, Julio BareaBarbieri, Rosa Líahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2952079237113522Matiello, Jhonitan5002000000036006006003a58e6ed-5033-4f8a-b8b8-92d94f074e0afc97ef41-d7a6-44f9-b072-a915cb58b5ad4d4e2fd9-56b1-46f3-a041-628de463b82a3df6e7c4-9129-4d12-9a84-a473410d11b3reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGEF_2021_MATIELLO_JHONITAN.pdfDIS_PPGEF_2021_MATIELLO_JHONITAN.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf5978791http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/23242/1/DIS_PPGEF_2021_MATIELLO_JHONITAN.pdfbb8a9bd880224bac9b5a262b8e1510b2MD51LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
