This analysis aims to contribute to the reflection on the representations of the regionality of the caboclo herbeiro from Rio Grande do Sul in literary works. Through the existing relations between geography and literature, we seek to make an analysis about the caboclos and their regional representations, seeking to reframe the role of minorities that, for several decades, were forgotten by research, both geographical and historical. Our reference started from the study of Social Representations, discussing concepts and how space is constituted in a continuous process of establishing relationships, connecting and interacting meanings of different forms of exchange between intersubjectivity and the collective that form society. We sequentially discuss the relationship between geography and literature, identifying an analogy between both, and which provide subsidies for the knowledge of subjects and their relationship with the world. As a methodological path, we used Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA), which is aligned with a qualitative nature whose purpose is to build something about the phenomena under discussion. Through Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) we built an analysis of the works “Os Parceiros do Rio Bonito” by Antônio Candido, “História agrária do Planalto gaúcho” by Paulo Afonso Zarth, which have reflections on the caboclo. These discussions are organized in metatexts with theorization about the phenomenon that was investigated.
