This dissertation aims to provide access to and disseminate part of the historical documentation of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Santa Maria, produced between 1931 and 1945, which was impacted by the 2024 climate disaster. To this end, the general objective was to investigate the documentary history of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Santa Maria, analyzing the impacts of the 2024 climate disaster on its collection, as well as the actions undertaken for the preservation, recovery, and dissemination of this heritage. To achieve the general objective, the following specific objectives were defined: (a) to describe the process of rescue and recovery of the documentation belonging to the Faculty of Pharmacy, produced between 1931 and 1945, affected by the flood; (b) to identify the documents that have already been cleaned and/or thawed after the flooding; (c) to carry out the digitization of the selected collection; and (d) to develop a catalog, as a research tool, containing samples of paper-based documents. The research adopts a qualitative approach. As data collection techniques, documentary research and participant observation were conducted. For the selection of documents, those that were rescued and recovered during the research were considered, prioritizing records that demonstrate the institutional trajectory of the Faculty of Pharmacy. As a technical product, the digital catalog will serve to preserve institutional memory and expand access to the collection, acting as a methodological reference for initiatives aimed at preserving the documentary heritage of the Federal University of Santa Maria. It will be structured in an accessible format, with images associated with archival descriptions, and will also be available on the Fonte Platform, the University’s document description system, aiming at the preservation and dissemination of institutional memory, and contributing to the strengthening of information access policies and the appreciation of university documentary heritage.
