Resumo: This work has as its theme the conception of women in Brazilian feminist movements with national articulation and as an object of research the theoretical and political disputes about this. There are several studies that refer to women, however, this understanding is usually presented in an underlying way, in feminist analyzes of patriarchal, capitalist and racist social organization. It is, therefore, almost implied. Despite this, there are few works that have dedicated themselves to explaining, after all, what the conception of women is, especially in the last century. Therefore, the problem we intend to answer is: what is the current conception of women in Brazilian feminist movements that are articulated nationally? Therefore, the general objective of this study is to investigate the conception of women in these movements. The specific objectives are: (1) to discuss theoretically about the concepts of sex, gender and identity and how they are articulated, reflecting on their contradictions and similarities; (2) structure the debate based on the problematization of the capitalist, racist and patriarchal structure, discussing its correlations and consequences and (3) interviewing leaders of Brazilian feminist movements with national articulation to understand their perspectives on the conception of women. As for the methodology, its approach to scientific procedure is historicaldialectical materialism, based on semi-structured interviews to collect empirical data, Content Analysis (CA) and Discourse Analysis (AD). Thus, it is organized, between introduction and final considerations, into three chapters: I) Theoretical-methodological considerations; II) Sex, gender and identity: encounters and disagreements; III) Feminist praxis: those who do not move, do not feel the chains that bind them. Finally, the results found through the transcription of the interviews were analyzed, under the lenses of AC and AD, based on three macro categories of analysis: sex, gender and militancy. It is concluded that the conception of women, in terms of female identity, is constructed by patriarchy through behavioral gender delimitations, based on the binary classification of sexes and, therefore, being an object of patriarchal oppression. The conception of women who belong to this group proved to be one that is the result of resistance to patriarchal frameworks, that is, that which emerges through the process of feminist militancy.
