Resumo: The use of bioactive plants by the population is very significant. According to WHO (World Health Organization), approximately 80% of the world population has made or makes use of any type of bioactive plant. However, the indiscriminate collection threatens biodiversity, making it essential to establish appropriate locations for cultivation. This project proposes to create a place that values the knowledge of folk medicine, where bioactive plants in the region are cultivated and preserved, besides correctly indicating the production techniques, management, manipulation and forms of consumption. It also details the productive operational process in addition of showing the importance that this space has in contexts of health and environment. To subsidize the choice of species, a survey was conducted with the UFTM internal community in order to identify and quantify the most used bioactive plants. The result led to the recommendation of 85% of bioactive species to start planting. Also presented are the natural alternatives to make viable the project that contributes to the teaching, research and extension, but mainly to improve the quality of life of the local community.

De acordo com a OMS (Organização Mundial da Saúde) cerca de 80% da população mundial já fez ou faz uso de algum tipo de planta bioativa. Entretanto, a coleta indiscriminada ameaça a biodiversidade, tornando imprescindível o estabelecimento de locais apropriados para o cultivo. Este projeto se propõe criar um espaço de valorização do conhecimento da medicina popular, onde serão cultivadas e conservadas plantas bioativas da região, além de indicar corretamente as técnicas de produção, de manejo, de manipulação e as formas de consumo. Também detalha o processo operacional produtivo além de mostrar a importância que esse espaço tem nos contextos da saúde e do meio ambiente. Para subsidiar a escolha das espécies, foi realizada uma pesquisa junto à comunidade interna da UFTM com vistas a identificar e quantificar as plantas bioativas mais utilizadas. O resultado gerou a recomendação de 85% das espécies bioativas para iniciar o plantio.
