Introduction: We bring modern-powders or pluralist near to the century XXI with the family, to the individualism and the relations descompromissada. In this slant when we think about our object of study: of making pregnant of adolescents in the century XXI, after the revolution of the pill and of the birth of the feminism, the act turns clear thinking which sense has this motherhood in this time of fluidity, ephemerality of the individual one, of the contemporary culture that puts languages, paradigms and projects on top. Purpose: To understand the perception of pregnant women about the act of becoming pregnant, and also to understand how the culture interferes with the act of becoming pregnant in the city of Uberlandia-MG. Methods: Qualitative interviews were carried out with 15 adolescent pregnant women attended at the Basic Units of Family Health located in the central region of the city of Uberlandia-MG. The statements of the pregnant women were recorded, transcribed and analyzed using qualitative data analysis methods. Results: Adolescents perceptions about motherhood are represented by a set of words that highlight the importance of motherhood in this phase of life, leading them to a future improvement perspective, confronted with the idea of society, which sees with prejudice and as a problem. Conclusion: For adolescents, maternity is part of the adolescent and includes the acquisition of responsibilities, which comes from the constitution of a new family. The adolescent speeches are an intimate dialogue that, far from being in the sociocultural environment in which they live, in any way, will be reflected in a future in which they will have to face the reality of life bringing with it responsibilities.
