Resumo: This dissertation studied how business schools and students deal their professional careers. Thus, this study objective was doing a research that provides answers for the question: how Uniminas Administration Course and the students deal with career planning according with the professional market necessities and opportunities? In order to do that an applied and descriptive research, which tried analyze facts and phenomena characteristics that influenced the career planning of Uniminas Administration Course students. The technical procedures used were the bibliographical research, documental research and case study. The techniques involved interviews with the coordinator and the coordination support core professors; questionnaires applied to the students to trace the student profile and the most evident points which intervenes in their careers. The research typology was case study, a strategy for exam a contemporary phenomena inside the context it happens. Therefore, the efforts were conducted in order to identify the research variables which intervene and interact in career planning and developing programs, related to perceptions of people pertaining to initial research corpus. Inside the research line Strategy and Organizational Change the subject detaches for recognize and analyze the career planning impacts in human resource management, besides standing out its importance in the conception and longevity of Administration courses. The research results indicate that Uniminas deal with its students career planning and developing by the management of its curricular grade, working in activities and programs which support the students formation and helps them to know better themselves. Moreover, this organization maintains a healthy relation with local companies, and this approach the egress profile to market demands. The results to the question "how the student manage his career?" points a superficial knowledge for the meaning of career and how its planning can be a great difference in the students professional future. The students declared they want ascension in its current job or conquering new positions in big companies, because they believe that companies offers better chances for professional developing. The level of students involvement in educational activities was relatively good, but is necessary improve the conscience about the relevance of their participation in these activities, to complete their formation as administrators. Course contributions and the effectiveness theory concepts utilization in professional routine also helps to approximate the subjects studied with market requirements. At last, the students has to know better the administrator career during the course, understand the career planning and structure their information in order to guide them when the course ended. The tolls to do that, they already have.

The tolls to do that, they already have.O objeto desta dissertação foi o estudo das formas com que escolas e alunos de Administração tratam suas carreiras profissionais. Assim, o objetivo deste foi realizar uma pesquisa que respondesse como o curso de Administração da UNIMINAS e seus alunos lidam com o planejamento de carreira segundo as necessidades e oportunidades de mercado. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa aplicada, do tipo descritiva que buscou analisar as características de fatos ou fenômenos que influenciassem no planejamento de carreira dos alunos do curso de Administração da UNIMINAS. Os procedimentos técnicos utilizados foram: pesquisa bibliográfica, pesquisa documental e estudo de caso. As técnicas utilizadas contaram com: entrevistas com o coordenador do curso de Administração da Uniminas; professores que compõe o núcleo de apoio à coordenação; aplicação de questionário junto aos discentes para o levantamento de perfil do aluno, e das variáveis mais evidentes na gestão de suas carreiras. A tipologia desta pesquisa foi o estudo de caso, uma estratégia que busca examinar um fenômeno contemporâneo dentro de seu contexto. Portanto, buscou-se identificar as variáveis de pesquisa que intervêm e interagem nos programas de planejamento e desenvolvimento de carreira, relacionadas às percepções dos indivíduos pertencentes ao corpus inicial de pesquisa. Dentro da linha de pesquisa Estratégia e Mudança Organizacional o tema se destaca por reconhecer e analisar os impactos do planejamento de carreira na gestão de recursos humanos, além de ressaltar a sua importância na concepção e longevidade dos cursos de Administração. Os resultados da pesquisa demonstram que a UNIMINAS trata do planejamento e desenvolvimento de carreira dos alunos do curso de Administração por meio da gestão da sua matriz curricular, com o desenvolvimento de trabalhos e programas que auxiliam na formação do aluno e colaboram no auto-conhecimento; possuindo um relacionamento saudável com as empresas da região, o que acaba por aproximar o perfil do aluno egresso às demandas do mercado. Os resultados, do questionamento sobre como o aluno gere sua carreira, apontam para um discente com conhecimento superficial sobre o significado de carreira, e como o planejamento desta pode representar um grande diferencial no seu futuro profissional. Demonstrou que os alunos vislumbram uma ascensão em seus atuais postos de trabalho, ou conquistando novos cargos em grandes empresas, que segundo eles apresentam maiores chances de desenvolvimento profissional; o nível de envolvimento do discente nas atividades educacionais foi relativamente bom, mas necessita de conscientização da importância destas participações na complementação da formação do futuro administrador. As contribuições do curso e a efetividade da utilização dos conceitos teóricos no dia-a-dia profissional também demonstraram auxiliar na aproximação do conteúdo às exigências de mercado. Enfim, falta ao aluno conhecer melhor a carreira de administrador durante o curso, entender o planejamento de carreira e estruturar suas informações de modo a orientá-lo no momento de sua conclusão do curso.
