Resumo: It was evaluated in this study the sorption, desorption, persistence, half-life (t ½) and the leaching potential of ametryn in soils with different values of pH. For this, it were used three samples of a red-yellow latosol (LVA) with pH 4.4, 4.9 and 5.8 and 2.55 % organic matter content and a red-yellow ultisol (PVA) with pH 5.9 and 1.7% organic matter content. For the sorption studies, it was used the "Batch equilibrium" method, where standard solutions of the herbicide (0.0, 5.0, 10.0, 25.0, 50.0 and 100.0 mg L-1) were prepared in a 0.01 mol L-1 CaCl2 solution and added to 2.00 grams of soil with further agitation for 12 h (predetermined time). After this, the supernatant was filtered and the ametryn was quantified by HPLC. The sorption (Kfa) and desorption (Kfd) coefficients were determined using Freundlich isotherms. The crescent order of the sorption coefficients was: LVA pH 5.8 LVA pH 4.9 LVA pH 4.4 PVA pH 5.9. This fact confirms the influence of soil pH and organic matter content in the sorption of ametryn. It was also observed that the values observed for Kfd were higher than for Kfa, and that the opposite was found for the parameter N, characterizing the phenomenon of Hysteresis (H). The crescent order for the hysteresis rate of ametryn in soils was LVA pH 5.8 LVA pH 4.4 LVA pH 4.9 PVA pH 5.9. To determine the half-life for ametryn, soil samples were previously prepared and placed in plastic pots, coated inside with polyethylene film and sprayed with herbicide. After that, the plastic pots were irrigated and, 12 hours after herbicide contact with the soil, it was made the first Solid Liquid Extraction with Low Temperature Partition (SLE-LTP) and quantification of ametryn by HPLC to determine the amount of ametryn adsorbed at time zero (t = 0). This process was repeated every 5 days, until 90 days after application (t = 90). It was concluded that the degradation of the herbicide followed the first class kinetics (lnC(t) = - kt + lnC(t = 0)) and is strongly influenced by soil pH. It was also found that the t½ for ametryn was 26, 19, 12 and 11 days for LVA pH 4.4, LVA pH 4.9, LVA pH 5.8 and PVA pH 5.9, respectively. For the ametryn leaching study, it were used PVC columns with 10 cm diameter and 50 cm length, filled with soil samples under study, being those irrigated next to field capacity for further herbicide application. Different rains (20, 40 and 80 mm) were simulated on top of the columns. After draining, these columns were placed horizontally in order to collect soil samples and sow the indicator plant (Cucumis sativus) for biological tests. The soil samples collected at different depths of the columns were conducted to a laboratory for extraction and quantification of the herbicide. It was concluded that soil pH and organic matter content influenced the ametryn leaching potential. It was verified that the bioassay method, despite not allowing the ametryn leaching quantification, in a direct way, was more efficient in determining herbicide movement in the soil due to the high sensibility of the indicator plant and, possibly, because sampling has been carried out improperly. It was concluded that ametryn shows low sorption, medium mobility and low persistence in the studied soils.

It was concluded that ametryn shows low sorption, medium mobility and low persistence in the studied soils.Avaliou-se neste trabalho a sorção, dessorção, persistência, meia-vida (t ½) e o potencial de lixiviação do ametryn em solos com diferentes valores de pH. Para isso, foram utilizadas amostras de um Argissolo Vermelho-Amarelo (PVA) com pH 5,9 e 2,55% de matéria orgânica (MO) e de um Latossolo Vermelho- Amarelo (LVA) pH (4,4, 4,9 e 5,8) e 1,7% de MO. Para os estudos de sorção foi utilizado o método Batch equilibrium onde, soluções padrão do herbicida (0,0, 5,0, 10,0, 25,0, 50,0 e 100,0 mg L-1) foram preparadas em CaCl2 0,01 mol L-1 e adicionadas a 2,00 g de solo com posterior agitação por 12 h (tempo prédeterminado). Após isso, o sobrenadante foi filtrado e o ametryn, nele contido, quantificado por CLAE. O coeficiente de sorção (Kfa) e de dessorção (Kfd) foram determinados com a utilização das isotermas de Freundlich. A ordem crescente dos coeficientes de sorção foi: LVA pH 5,8 < LVA pH 4,9 < LVA pH 4,4 < PVA pH 5,9. Esse fato confirma a influência do pH do solo e do teor de MO na sorção do ametryn. Observou-se também que os valores de Kfd observados foram superiores aos Kfa, e o que o oposto foi verificado para o parâmetro N caracterizando assim o fenômeno de Histerese (H). A ordem crescente para o índice de histerese do ametryn nos solos estudados foi LVA pH 5,8 < LVA pH 4,4 < LVA pH 4,9 < PVA pH 5,9. Para determinação da meia-vida do ametryn, amostras de solo foram previamente preparadas e colocadas em potes plásticos, revestidos internamente com filme de polietileno e pulverizadas com o herbicida. Após isso, fez-se a irrigação dos vasos e 12 horas após o contato do herbicida com o solo fez-se a primeira extração Sólido Líquido com Partição a Baixa Temperatura (ESL-PBT) e quantificação do ametryn por CLAE para determinar a quantidade de ametryn adsorvido no tempo zero (t = 0). Este processo foi repetido a cada 5 dias, até 90 dias após a aplicação (t = 90). Concluiu-se que a degradação do herbicida obedeceu a cinética de 1ª ordem (lnC(t) = - kt + lnC(t=0)), sendo muito influenciada pelo pH do solo. Constatou-se, também, que o t½ do ametryn foi de 26, 19, 12 e 11 dias para no LVA pH 4,4, LVA pH 4,9, LVA pH 5,8 e PVA pH 5,9, respectivamente. No estudo da lixiviação do ametryn utilizou-se colunas de PVC de 10 cm de diâmetro por 50 cm de comprimento, preenchidas com amostras dos solos em estudo sendo estas umedecidas próximas à capacidade de campo para posterior aplicação do herbicida. Foram simuladas chuvas (20, 40 e 80 mm) no topo dessas colunas. Após cessar a drenagem essas colunas foram colocadas na horizontal para coleta de amostras de solo e semeadura da planta indicadora (Cucumis sativus) no solo das colunas para testes biológicos. As amostras de solo coletadas em diferentes profundidades das colunas foram conduzidas ao laboratório para extração e quantificação do herbicida. Concluiu-se que o pH do solo e o teor de matéria orgânica influenciaram o potencial de lixiviação do ametryn. Verificou- se que o método do bioensaio apesar de não permitir a quantificação do produto lixiviado, de forma direta, foi mais eficiente na determinação da movimentação do herbicida no solo devida a alta sensibilidade da planta indicadora e, possivelmente, pelo fato de a amostragem ter sido realizada de forma inadequada.
