This work deals with the environmental conflicts in the region of the State Park of Serra do Brigadeiro (PESB), more specifically the city of Miradouro MG, which is part around the Park. The first proposal to create of the PESB, counted with an intense mobilization of farmers, ONGs, rural workers unions, and others entities. Thogether they question the minimum quota of 1000 m of altitude as requisite creation of the park. For, if not revised, many landowners wold be expropriated, because they are within the established quota. In the second proposal, as a result of mobilization of social actors, the established quota was disregarded, and done field work, where representatives of organizations and landowners, began to indicate where it should pass the limits of the PESB. Due articulation and mobilization of social actors, involved the Park was created in 1996, avoiding expropriations. Currently, another project has spurred the mobilization of social actors because the installation of mining projects in the region, especially bauxite. Thus, they articulate themselves again, to prevent the advances of this kind of enterprise and defend regional development, from the strengthening of family agriculture. The study is based on interviews, attending meetings, Regional Sustainable Development Forum, reading of minutes, public hearing, et. It aimed at assessing the environmental conflicts involving development proposals linked to mining activity, and other guided in regional sustainable development facing the Serra do Brigadeiro, seeking to unveil the forms of material and symbolic appropriation of the territory in question.
