The objective of this study was to analyze the contribution of Information and CommunicationTechnologies (ICTs) and materials used for the mediation of educational content as well as the strategies of interaction between teachers, tutors and students used in the teaching-learning courses offered in continuing education courses to Lusophone African countries by assessing participants of the FODEPAL/UFV project. The structure of the work is given initially by defining the theoretical-methodological basis, i.e. the context of distance education(DE) in continuing educationin developing countries, followed by the settings for the themes that are the basis of this research. We adopt the development of a descriptive research as perspective of the work, by using the census method, using the internet to collect data through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed from the perspective of the evaluation process using the technique of content analysis. The object of research is the FODEPAL/UFV project offered by the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) for training professionals from Portuguese speaking African countries. Study subjects were students, teachers and tutors who worked on this project. By analyzingthe data collectedand interviews conducted, it was found that the use of ICT in distance education online mode presents. It self as an important tool for the demands for continued training of Lusophone African countries, mainly dedicated to the adult audience, however it can be used more effectively if the conditions of the telecommunications infrastructure are better available and substantiated by aproper political-pedagogical project to there alities of those countries.
