Resumo: The objective of the study is to determine the presence of antigens of Klebsiella pneumoniae in tissues or organs of immunodepressed and nonimmunodepressed mice fed an enteric diet contaminated with K. pneumoniae and in the presence or absence of the prebiotics FOS and inuline. The liver and spleen of the animals were extracted on the sixth and seventh day of the experiment and analyzed with histological techniques of optic and fluorescent microscopy. For the indirect technique of immunoflourescence analysis using albino New Zealand rabbits, polyclonal antiserum containing antibodies for K. pneumoniae were produced. The antiserum yielded positive results in the serological tests for 14 isolates of Klebsiella sp. To detect K. pneumoniae, the indirect tests for immunofluorescence and staining with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E), toluidine blue, periodic acid Shiff (PAS), and Gram, showed no bacteria present in either the liver or spleen, nor did the histological analyses show evidence of alterations in the selected organs.

Fígado e baço dos animais oriundos do sexto e sétimo dia de experimento foram coletados e processados através de técnicas histológicas para a análise por microscopia óptica e de fluorescência. Para a técnica de imunofluorescência indireta foi produzido anti-soro policlonal contendo anticorpos para K. pneumoniae utilizando coelhos albinos da raça Nova Zelândia. O anti-soro obtido também apresentou reação positiva nos testes sorológicos para 14 isolados de Klebsiella sp.
