Resumo: Talinum triangulare (Jacq.) Willd (Portulacaceae), a Brazilian specie of annual cycle, is used as food and in traditional medicine as a laxative, healing and in the treatment of measles and diabetes. Found in tropical environments, it is well adapted to hot and humid climate, and low soil fertility. The specie spreaded by seed and grows spontaneously, especially in perennial crops, uncultivated land, being considered in these situations, like weed. The objective was to study T. triangulare describing its anatomy, mineral composition, characterizing seed germination by assessing the production of flavonoids in plants treated with homeopathy, as well as to test the antioxidant capacity of plant extract. Anatomical characterization of leaf and stem and leaf mineral composition were made following the usual procedures and techniques. In the study of seed germination it was evaluated four temperatures (constant 20, 25, 30° C and 20-30° C), two types of substrate (paper and between paper) and five pre-germination treatments: immersion in hypochlorite solution 6% (1 hour), immersion in water (24 hours), immersion in a solution of potassium nitrate 0.2% (24 hours), immersion in a solution of gibberellin 0.05% (24 hours) and control (seeds naïve). In evaluating the effect of homeopathy Phosphorus experiments were conducted in two seasons (winter and summer), installed in plots, and plots the planting season and split the harvest period (30 and 60 days after initiation of treatment application ), in a completely randomized design with four replications. The treatments consisted of application of homeopathy Phosphorus (3CH, 6CH, 12CH, 30CH, 100CH) and control (water energized). It was determined the following variables: plant height, number of branches, fresh weight, dry weight and content of flavonoid, determined by spectrophotometric method. The mesophyll of the leaf of T. triangulare tends to be dorsiventral, with spongy parenchyma cells composed of hypertrophied and idioblasts containing calcium oxalate druse. In the apical portion, the stem has a triangular cross section and structure eustele with collateral bundles delimiting the medulla and cortical region, which is composed of parenchyma cells bulky. The subepidermal portion is characterized by a layer of angular collenchyma and epidermis with few stomata. In the basal portion, the stem has a circular shape, about four layers of angular collenchyma and parenchyma cells bulky internal boundary of the cortex. The mineral composition of leaves showed a high content of nitrogen, potassium, magnesium and iron. The highest percentage of germination of T.triangulare seeds was observed by alternating temperature 20-30 °C. Soaking the seeds in KNO3 resulted in best percentage and germination speed index, differing significantly from other treatments, except dipping in water, there was no significant difference. The biosynthesis of flavonoids is influenced by the time of planting and harvesting of plants, whose lowest level was recorded during the summer in plants harvested at 60 days. Phosphorus homeopathy in dinamizations 3CH, 12CH and 30CH consistent significantly effect on balance and increasing the content of flavonoids in plants grown in summer and harvested at 60 days. The methanol extract of T. triangulare showed antioxidant activity determined by DPPH method.
