Introduction: It is known that students nowadays actively seek different sources of content for learning. Generation Z, to which the majority of students currently attending higher education belong, has naturally embraced Information and Communication Digital Technologies (ICDT). Digital media are part of their daily lives, and students of this generation have skills with ICDT in various contexts, receiving and processing information very rapidly. Therefore, evaluating the learning gain and motivation from a media resource widely used by this student profile and which has not yet been incorporated into university curricula is of great importance. These resources are called vodcasts, which are video files in which, through interviews, covered technical content, analysis, or reviews. Objective: To assess motivation and learning of cognitive aspects regarding cardiopulmonary resuscitation through the use of vodcasts. Methodology: This is an applied research involving 25 sixth˗semester medical students from UNIFENAS, Belo Horizonte (MG). Three vodcasts were produced on the topic of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), emphasizing cognitive aspects of this procedure. The study was conducted through self-pairing, in which students took a pre-intervention test (T-pre) to assess prior knowledge. Subsequently, students were given access to the 3 vodcasts for 15 days, in which they could view them in any way and as many times as they wished. After this period, a post-intervention test (T-post) was administered with the same difficulty level questions as T-pre. Additionally, a sociodemographic questionnaire (to outline the students’ profile) and a motivation assessment questionnaire were administered. Results: It was observed that after comparing T-pre and T-post scores, there was an improvement in students' performance, indicating that the use of vodcasts positively influenced their knowledge (p < 0.05). A high level of motivation was also observed through the application of IMMS-BRV instrument, as median scores for all dimensions and overall motivation were equal to or greater than 4.5 (out of a maximum score of 5). Conclusion: The use of cardiopulmonary resuscitation vodcasts by sixth-semester students in the Medicine program at UNIFENAS-BH resulted in a significant increase in their knowledge and high motivation
