Resumo: | It is known that accurate information is one of the main strategies. Thus, the role of health professionals, such as the ACS and ACE, in relation to the promotion, prevention and control of diseases and the reinforcement of community guidance is highlighted. In this context, this study aimed to analyze the perception of Community Health Agents (ACS), Endemic Fighting Agents (ACE) and managers of Family Health Units (USF) about their role and the role of the Health Strategy of the Family (ESF) in the prevention and control of COVID-19. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, a mixed study, carried out with 138 CHA, 23 ACE and 23 nurse managers. Data collection was performed using an instrument with semi- structured questions and guiding questions. The research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Universidade Federal de Alfenas. The study allowed identifying the perception of professionals in the prevention and control of Covid-19. In this sense, the identity of the family health strategy itself emerged as the strongest theme in the professionals' speech, indicating the importance of its current and strategic instrumentality in pandemic control. Theme that emerged with similar strength was that of health education, based on the immediate concern with the control of contagion and the operationality of the Agent for Combating Endemic Diseases in the ESF. The themes of the transmission chain, work process and health education also emerged (this one more identified in the nurses' statements). Quantitative results related to knowledge about the epidemiological chain and measures to prevent covid-19 indicated a disparity among research participants. The responses from the ACEs showed less rigorous concern in guiding the population regarding preventive care. Given the above, it proposes the implementation of Continuing Education for FHS professionals, with the objectives of establishing an organized system of work process, aiming to ensure the quality of care provided. |
