Resumo: Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) and onion (Allium cepa L.) plants are of great importance in the diet of Brazilians. They are also widely used in bioassays as the target species, which are important for determining the effect of agents on parts of the body. Knowledge of the morphology of the chromosomes of target species is important. Thus, it is necessary to use methods that allow knowledge of characteristics that relate to the sensitivity and/or resistance of materials within genetically distinct target species. A parameter to be used in karyotype description is the identification of the golden ratio in the arm ratio of chromosome. The golden ratio found in various forms in nature and used in various areas of human knowledge structures confers greater stability and strength. The objective of this study was to evaluate methodologies for the presence of the golden ratio, as well as quantify the karyotypic and morphometric variation in seven genotypes of Lactuca sativa L. and four genotypes of Allium cepa L., and identify and quantify the presence of the golden ratio in the ratio arms of chromosomes of these genotypes. The methodology that establishes the presence of the golden ratio making use of the difference between the largest and smallest segment multiplied by showed better results in the control of Type I error rates and power . There was variation in the karyotype formula of genotypes of the two species used for the study. Identified the presence of the golden ratio in chromosome pairs in all genotypes. There is variation in the number of chromosomes present in the golden ratio between genotypes and species. The species had between one and fourth chromosomes in golden ratio. Cytogenetic findings reported here can be applied as a tool to aid identification of genotypes and Lactuca sativa L. e Allium cepa L. and provide insights for future studies of chromosomal manipulation.

Cytogenetic findings reported here can be applied as a tool to aid identification of genotypes and Lactuca sativa L. e Allium cepa L. and provide insights for future studies of chromosomal manipulation.A alface (Lactuca sativa L.) e a cebola (Allium cepa L.) são vegetais de grande importância na alimentação dos brasileiros. Também são amplamente utilizadas como espécie-alvo em bioensaios, os quais são importantes para a determinação do efeito de agentes sobre partes de um organismo. O conhecimento sobre os aspectos morfológicos dos cromossomos de espécies alvo é extremamente importante. Desta forma, faz-se necessário a utilização de metodologias que possibilitem um conhecimento de características que estão relacionadas com a sensibilidade e/ou resistência dos materiais geneticamente distintos dentro da espécie-alvo. Um parâmetro a ser utilizado na descrição cariotípica é a identificação de proporção áurea na razão de braços de cromossomos. A proporção áurea encontrada em várias formas na natureza e utilizada em diversas áreas dos saberes do homem confere às estruturas uma maior estabilidade e resistência. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar metodologias para averiguar a presença de proporção áurea, bem como quantificar as variações cariotípica e morfométricas de sete genótipos de Lactuca sativa L. e de quatro genótipos de Allium cepa L., bem como identificar e quantificar a presença de proporção áurea na razão de braços dos cromossomos desses genótipos. A metodologia que estabelece a presença de proporção áurea fazendo uso da diferença entre o maior segmento e o menor multipicado por apresentou melhores resultados nos controles das taxas de erro tipo I e de poder. Houve variação da fórmula cariotípica de genótipos das duas espécies utilizadas para o estudo. Identificou-se a presença de proporção áurea nos pares cromossômicos em todos os genótipos. Há variação na quantidade de cromossomos que apresentam em proporção áurea entre os genótipos das espécies. Elas apresentaram entre um e quarto cromossomos em proporção áurea. Os resultados citogenéticos aqui relatados podem ser aplicados como ferramentas de auxílio na identificação de genótipos de Lactuca sativa L e de Allium cepa L. além de fornecer subsídios para futuros estudos de manipulação cromossômica.application/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Ecologia e Tecnologia AmbientalUNIFAL-MGBrasilInstituto de Ciências da Naturezainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/CariótipoLactuca sativaAllium cepaSegmento áureoCIENCIAS BIOLOGICAS::GENETICAProporção áurea em modelos biológicosinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion4542263603111139210600600-5518144268585252051reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações da UNIFALinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALVaz, José Murilo CalixtoCC-LICENSElicense_urllicense_urltext/plain;
