Resumo: Outsourcing has increasingly become a common procedure among companies in Brazil as well as all over the world. It usually depicts a set where outsourcing workers may assume low-skilled and low-valued occupations which mainly consist of manual labor, requiring physical effort. This kind of service can be poor and have consequences for welfare and health of its workers. Among such consequences, changes in self-esteem and consumption of substances, including alcohol and tobacco, are highlighted. Thus, this study aims at assessing the self-esteem as well as the alcohol, tobacco and other substances consumption among outsourcing workers from a public university in a city in the south of Minas Gerais. It is a qualitative, descriptive analytical and cross-sectional study, performed with 316 outsourcing workers from a public university from the city of Alfenas-MG. Data collection was conducted between December 2016 and February 2017, and it used the following instruments: Instrument of characterization, Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test e Fagerström Test for Nicotine Dependence. The level of carbon monoxide in exhaled air was also evaluated through the monoximeter. In order to analyze data, it was used: descriptive statistics, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, Pearson's chi-square test and Fisher's exact test with significance level set at 5%. The odds ratio were estimate with a confidence interval of 95%, as well as the logistic regression. As a result, it could be found that most of the outsourcing workers were females; aged from 30 to 39; married or living with partners; catholic; with kids; house hold incomes from R$ 1.501 to R$ 3.000 . Most of the workers were secretaries who have worked for outsourcing for up to 10 years, and for the institution 4 years or more. Most of those workers had high self-esteem; the most present substances during their lives were alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and inhalants; and great part of them showed as either low physically dependent on tobacco or smoker. It could be concluded that only the sex, age and working shift in the institution had statistical association to the levels of self-esteem; that the variables which had statistical association to the risks from developing complications around alcohol consumption were sex, age, marital status, religious belief and number of kids; and finally that only the variable of practicing physical exercises showed statistical association to risks of developing complications from consuming tobacco-derived products. There was no statistical association between the risk of developing complications from consuming alcohol or tobacco-derived products and the levels of self-esteem. Physical dependence on tobacco showed statistical association to the smoker status. Therefore, it might be noticed how much outsourcing companies need to provide better work conditions to their employees as well as help in favor of improving their work and social quality of life. Besides the companies should adopt measures that hold motivating factors of mental illnesses, changes in self-esteem and consumption of substances.

Besides the companies should adopt measures that hold motivating factors of mental illnesses, changes in self-esteem and consumption of substances.Serviços terceirizados são uma prática cada vez mais utilizada no Brasil e no mundo pelas empresas, onde os trabalhadores terceirizados podem exercer atividades de baixa qualificação ocupacional e pouca valorização, cuja natureza do trabalho é principalmente manual, braçal e com demanda de esforço físico. Essa modalidade de serviço pode ser precária e gerar consequências para o bem-estar e para a saúde dessas pessoas. Dentre essas consequências, destacam-se as alterações na autoestima e o consumo de substâncias, incluindo o álcool e o tabaco. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo é avaliar a autoestima, o consumo de álcool, de tabaco e de outras substâncias em trabalhadores terceirizados de uma universidade pública de um município do Sul de Minas Gerais. Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, descritivo-analítico e transversal, desenvolvido com 316 trabalhadores terceirizados de uma universidade pública do município de Alfenas-MG. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre os meses de dezembro de 2016 e fevereiro de 2017, com os instrumentos: Instrumento de caracterização, Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg, Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test e Fagerström Test for Nicotine Dependence. Também foi avaliado o nível de monóxido de carbono no ar exalado por meio do aparelho monoxímetro. Para a análise de dados, foram utilizados: estatística descritiva, Coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach, o teste de Qui-quadrado de Pearson e Teste Exato de Fisher com nível de significância de 5%. Foi estimado o odds ratio com intervalo de confiança de 95% e a regressão logística. Como resultados, encontrou-se que a maioria dos trabalhadores terceirizados era do sexo feminino; com faixa etária de 30 a 39 anos; casados ou conviventes com companheiros; católicos; com filhos; renda familiar mensal de 1.501 a 3.000 reais. A maior frequência de trabalhadores eram secretários atendentes; com tempo de profissão em serviços terceirizados de até 10 anos, e na instituição de quatro anos ou mais. A maioria desses trabalhadores possuía autoestima alta; as substâncias mais utilizadas na vida foram o álcool, o tabaco, a maconha e os inalantes; e grande parte dos trabalhadores apresentaram dependência física ao tabaco muito baixa e o status tabágico fumante. Constatou-se que apenas as variáveis sexo, faixa etária e turno de trabalho na instituição tiveram associação estatística com a medida de autoestima; que as variáveis que tiveram associação estatística com o risco de desenvolver problemas relacionados ao consumo de álcool foram sexo, faixa etária, estado civil, crença religiosa e quantidade de filhos e que apenas a variável prática de atividade física apresentou associação estatística com o risco de desenvolver problemas relacionados ao consumo de derivados do tabaco. Não houve associação estatística entre o risco de desenvolver problemas relacionados ao consumo de álcool e de derivados do tabaco com a medida de autoestima. A dependência física do tabaco apresentou associação estatística com o status tabágico. Assim, nota-se a necessidade de as empresas terceirizadas promoverem melhores condições de trabalho e favorecerem uma melhor qualidade de vida laboral e social a esses trabalhadores, além de adotarem medidas que detenham os fatores motivadores das doenças psíquicas, de alterações da autoestima e do consumo de substâncias.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em EnfermagemUNIFAL-MGBrasilEscola de Enfermageminfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/AutoimagemConsumo de Bebidas AlcoólicasTabagismoDrogas IlícitasServiços TerceirizadosSaúde do TrabalhadorEnfermagemSAUDE COLETIVA::SAUDE PUBLICAAvaliação da autoestima, do consumo de álcool, de tabaco e de outras substâncias em trabalhadores terceirizados de uma universidade públicainfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-320458053053636049360060060031126492445846009792075167498588264571reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALNadaleti, Nayara PiresLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
