Resumo: Noncommunicable diseases and conditions have increasingly impacted the health of individuals. Cancer, as one of these diseases, due to its etiopathogenic characteristics and magnitude, has been configured as a serious public health problem. For these characteristics, it requires the development of research on quality of life. The theoretical framework used in the development of this work is the “Quality of Life Model for cancer survivors”, by authors Ferrel, Dow and Grant. In this model, the authors focus on the domains of physical well-being, psychological well-being, social well-being, and spiritual well-being, defending the interrelationship between the four dimensions exposed with a consequent impact on quality of life. This study aims to assess the health-related quality of life patients with cancer in the Alfenas region. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive- analytical study, with a quantitative approach, and simple random sampling, developed at the Oncology High Complexity Assistance Center of a reference hospital for people with cancer, located in a municipality in the south of Minas Gerais. Data collection occurred through an interview between May and December 2019, using the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 instrument, validated for Brazil, and a questionnaire that addresses social and demographic and clinical-therapeutic data. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis was performed, as well as an evaluation of the internal consistency of the scale using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee. 255 patients diagnosed with cancer participated in the study, most of them from the south of Minas Gerais. Female participants (53,7%), aged 60 to 78 years (53,3%), married (60,7%), religious (97,6%), with elementary education (66,2%) prevailed %), low income (78,4%), retired (51,4%), self-declared white (57.8%), and with an excellent relationship with the family (58%). The most treated cancers were breast cancer (25%) and gastrointestinal cancer (18,2%). The majority did not present metastasis (55,2%), staging II (16%) prevailed. Surgery (16,8%) and associated treatment (16,4%) were the most commonly performed treatments. In the analysis of Health-Related Quality of Life, it is observed that the most altered domains of the quality of life scale were: Emotional Function 73,2±28,5; Physical Function 75,7±23,6; insomnia 33±41.3 and pain 22,5±30,9. Financial Difficulty had an average score of 23,9 ± 34,7. The results showed that the sociodemographic aspects such as sex, age, education, religion, occupation, financial situation, relationship with family members and clinical and therapeutic aspects such as the stage of cancer, the presence of metastasis, comorbidities, the type of diagnosis and treatment identified in the study population affected health-related quality of life domains in some way. It is noteworthy that, the predictive aspects of Health-Related Quality of Life pointed out in this research must be taken into account when planning strategies to improve the quality of life of cancer patients.

It is noteworthy that, the predictive aspects of Health-Related Quality of Life pointed out in this research must be taken into account when planning strategies to improve the quality of life of cancer patients.As doenças e agravos não transmissíveis têm impactado cada vez mais na saúde dos indivíduos. O câncer, como uma destas doenças, em virtude de suas características etiopatogênicas e magnitude, tem se configurado como um grave problema de saúde pública. Por essas características, requer o desenvolvimento de pesquisas sobre a qualidade de vida. O referencial teórico utilizado no desenvolvimento deste trabalho é o “Modelo de Qualidade de Vida para sobreviventes de câncer”, dos autores Ferrel, Dow e Grant. Neste modelo, os autores focam nos domínios de bem estar físico, bem estar psicológico, bem estar social, e bem estar espiritual, defendendo a inter-relação entres as quatro dimensões expostas com consequente impacto na qualidade de vida. Esse estudo tem como objetivo avaliar a qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde de pacientes com câncer da região de Alfenas. Trata-se de estudo transversal, descritivo-analítico, com abordagem quantitativa, e amostragem aleatória simples, desenvolvido no Centro de Assistência de Alta Complexidade em Oncologia de uma instituição hospitalar referência para o atendimento às pessoas com câncer, localizado em um município do sul de Minas Gerais. A coleta de dados ocorreu, por meio de entrevista entre maio e dezembro de 2019, com uso do instrumento European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30, validado para o Brasil, e de um questionário que aborda questões sociodemográficas e clínico-terapêuticas. Foi realizada análise estatística descritiva e inferencial, assim como avaliação da consistência interna da escala por meio de Coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach,. O estudo segue as normas de pesquisa em seres humanos. Participaram do estudo 255 pacientes com diagnóstico de câncer, a maioria provenientes do sul de Minas Gerais. Prevaleceu participantes do sexo feminino (53,7%), na faixa etária de 60 a 78 anos (53,3%), casados (60,7%), religiosos (97,6%) , com ensino fundamental (66,2%), baixa renda (78,4%), aposentados (51,4%), autodeclarada branca (57,8%), e com ótima relação com a família (58%). Os cânceres mais tratados foram o câncer de mama (25%) e gastrointestinal (18,2%). A maioria não apresentava metástase (55,2%), prevaleceu o estadiamento II (16%). A cirurgia (16,8%) e o tratamento adjuvante (16,4%) foram os tratamentos mais realizados. Na análise da Qualidade de Vida Relacionada à Saúde, observa-se que os domínios mais alterados da escala de qualidade de vida foram: a Função Emocional 73,2±28,5; a Função Física 75,7±23,6; a insônia 33±41,3 e a dor 22,5±30,9. A Dificuldade Financeira apresentou um escore médio de 23,9±34,7. Os resultados mostraram que os aspectos sociodemográficos como, sexo, idade, escolaridade, religião ocupação, situação financeira, relação com os familiares e aspectos clínico-terapêuticos como o estádio do câncer, a presença de metástase, comorbidades, o tipo de diagnóstico e tratamento realizados identificados na população do estudo afetaram de alguma forma domininios da qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde. Ressalta-se que, os aspectos preditivos da Qualidade de Vida Relacionada à Saúde apontados nesta pesquisa devem ser levados em consideração no planejamento de estratégias para melhorar a qualidade de vida dos pacientes oncológicos.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em EnfermagemUNIFAL-MGBrasilEscola de Enfermageminfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/CâncerQualidade de Vida Relacionada à SaúdeTratamentosQualidade de VidaCIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEMAvaliação da Qualidade de Vida Relacionada à Saúde de Pacientes com Câncer da Região de Alfenas – Minas Geraisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-3204580530536360493600600600-77028265330109643272075167498588264571reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALTherrier, SterlineLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
