Resumo: Organizational Commitment is one of the theoretical concepts most researched by scholars and employed by managers of organizations, public and private, seeking to obtain better results and workforce engagement. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the Organizational Commitment in the perception of UNIFAL-MG, Campus Varginha servers. Specifically, it aimed to: a) describe the profile of the servers; b) identify the degree of Organizational Commitment in the perception of employees, in its three dimensions (affective, instrumental and normative); c) identify, describe and analyze possible differences and similarities between the research subjects, regarding the Organizational Commitment, in its three dimensions, in the light of public administration; d) verify if there is a correlation between personal, functional, organizational variables and Organizational Commitment in its three dimensions; e) elaborate an intervention proposal considering the studies performed in the present research. To verify the dimensions of Organizational Commitment, we used the threecomponent conceptual model (affective, instrumental and normative) by Meyer and Allen (1991, 1997), already validated by several researchers. The research sample consisted of 79 effective servers. Data collection was operationalized through the application of structured and electronic questionnaire; Subsequently, the data were treated using: a) descriptive statistics to describe the profile of the servers and the level of organizational commitment of the servers; b) Cronbach's alpha coefficient to validate the commitment measurement construct developed by Meyer and Allen (1991, 1997); c) data normality test - Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) to decide on the application of parametric or nonparametric tests in the comparison of means, being: in the normal dimensions, the independent samples t-test and the ANOVA (Tukey) test; and in the non-normal dimension, the Mann-Whitney U test and the Kruskall-Wallis test. The results indicated the predominance of the affective base, followed by the normative and instrumental bases. In the analysis of the averages, statistical significance was observed in: functional data: “position”, in the affective dimension; “Worked in the private sector, in the instrumental and normative dimensions; and, “what attracted to the public service”, in the normative dimension. In the organizational data: “considering the professional qualifications, receives adequate remuneration”, in the affective and normative dimensions; “Current legislation is a negative factor in the performance of my work / career”, in the affective and instrumental dimensions; and finally, “there is great pressure to obey the rules (laws, ordinances, regulations, etc.)” in the affective dimension. In the correlation analysis, there was significance of the data considered weak in the following variables: “has worked in private enterprise”, “what attracted to the public service”, “position” and, finally, “considering professional qualifications, receives adequate remuneration”.

Portanto, este estudo tem como objetivo analisar o Comprometimento Organizacional na percepção dos servidores da UNIFAL-MG, Campus Varginha. Especificamente, objetivou-se: a) descrever o perfil dos servidores; b) identificar o grau do Comprometimento Organizacional na percepção dos servidores, em suas três dimensões (afetiva, instrumental e normativa); c) identificar, descrever e analisar possíveis diferenças e semelhanças entre os sujeitos da pesquisa, no que tange ao Comprometimento Organizacional, em suas três dimensões, à luz da administração pública; d) verificar se há correlação entre as variáveis pessoais, funcionais, organizacionais e o Comprometimento Organizacional em suas três dimensões; e) elaborar uma proposta de intervenção considerando os estudos realizados na presente pesquisa. Para verificar as dimensões do Comprometimento Organizacional foi utilizado o modelo conceitual de três componentes (afetiva, instrumental e normativo) de Meyer e Allen (1991, 1997), já validado por diversos pesquisadores. A amostra da pesquisa foi composta por 79 servidores efetivos. A coleta de dados foi operacionalizada através da aplicação de questionário estruturado e eletrônico; posteriormente, trataram-se os dados utilizando: a) estatística descritiva para descrever o perfil dos servidores e o nível do Comprometimento Organizacional dos servidores; b) Coeficiente Alpha de Cronbach para validar o construto de mensuração do comprometimento, desenvolvido por Meyer e Allen (1991, 1997); c) teste de normalidade dos dados - Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) para decidir sobre a aplicação de testes paramétricos ou não paramétricos na comparação das médias, sendo: nas dimensões normais, o teste t de amostras independentes e o teste ANOVA (Tukey); e, na dimensão não normal, o teste U de Mann-Whitney e o teste Kruskall-Wallis. Os resultados apontaram a predominância da base afetiva, seguida das bases normativa e instrumental. Na análise das médias, observou-se significância estatística em: dados funcionais; “cargo”, na dimensão afetiva; “trabalhou na iniciativa privada, nas dimensões instrumental e normativa; e, “o que atraiu para o serviço público”, na dimensão normativa. Nos dados organizacionais: “considerando as qualificações profissionais, recebe remuneração adequada”, nas dimensões afetiva e normativa; “a legislação vigente é um fator negativo no desempenho do meu trabalho/carreira”, nas dimensões afetiva e instrumental; e, por fim, “há grande pressão para obediência às normas (leis, portarias, regulamentos etc)”, na dimensão afetiva.
