Resumo: Using samples collected on social media, such as publications made by people who defend pseudoscientific positions, this research investigates elements of such positions that conflict with scientific knowledge. This research aims to expand the understanding about school and scientific knowledge oppositions that gain space in social media used in Brazil, providing useful information for the formulation of teaching strategies and scientific dissemination. The chosen methodology was virtual ethnography, understanding that the internet is not only an artifact from a culture, but also constitutes its own environment, that is, it has a spatial and temporal profile distinct from the offline environment, allowing unlike social and cultural interactions in comparison with other environments. The investigation focuses on three specific movements: intelligent design, flat earth hypothesis and vaccine refusal. In general, the investigated pseudoscientific movements have very different characteristics from one another, despite having similarities, which may require more complex approaches in effort to oppose their dissemination. In addition, were identified internal distinct elements that led different individuals to approach each researched movements, which opposes homogenizing analyzes about such people and their personal reasons.

Esse trabalho visa fornecer conhecimentos específicos acerca das oposições ao conhecimento escolar e científico que ganham espaço em redes sociais frequentadas por brasileiros, provendo informações úteis à formulação de estratégias de ensino e divulgação científica. A metodologia escolhida foi a etnografia virtual, entendendo que a internet é não só um artefato oriundo de uma cultura, mas também constitui um ambiente próprio, ou seja, possui um recorte espacial e temporal distinto do ambiente off-line, permitindo interações sociais e culturais próprias e separadas de outros ambientes. A investigação foca em três movimentos específicos: o design inteligente, o terraplanismo e a recusa vacinal. De forma geral, os movimentos pseudocientíficos investigados apresentam características muito distintas um do outro, apesar de semelhanças, o que pode representar uma maior complexidade em abordagens que busquem combater a disseminação dos mesmos. Além disso, internamente, foram identificados elementos distintos que levaram indivíduos a se aproximarem dos movimentos pesquisados, o que contrapõe análises homogeneizantes sobre tais pessoas e as razões que as levaram a se aproximar de tais movimentos.application/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em EducaçãoUNIFAL-MGBrasilInstituto de Ciências Humanas e Letrasinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Crenças epistemologicamente injustificadasPseudociênciasNatureza da ciência e letramento científico.CIENCIAS HUMANAS::EDUCACAONegacionismo e ciência: conflitos entre os conhecimentos científicos e as redes sociaisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-1922309773983257291600600-240345818910352367reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALGrandchamp Neto, PedroLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
