Resumo: Many nurses work in hospitals, and the nursing staff has broad responsibility in these institutions for dealing with direct and integral care to the patient, and may submit them to occupational hazards and accidents by changing their self-esteem. The objective of this study was to evaluate the occurrence of accidents and self-esteem of nurses in hospital settings in a municipality of Minas Gerais. It is a descriptive and analytical study, transversal and quantitative, developed with 393 nursing professionals (nurses, technicians and nursing assistants) who worked in three hospitals. For data collection was used the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the population characterization questionnaire, which was submitted to the refining process and pilot testing. For data analysis we used the software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, version 17.0, using the chi-square test Person or Fisher exact test, Cronbach Alpha and the odds ratio of the independent variables with accidents at work and with self-esteem, in addition to the logistic regression model. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Alfenas, according to opinion No. 773,900. With the results, it was observed that most professionals are female, aged 30-39 years married or cohabiting with partners, has monthly family income 1500-3000 actual, Catholics, does not consume alcohol and not cigarettes, do not practice physical exercises, have no chronic diseases and do not make use of continuous medication. Regarding the professional category, most are nursing technician, with up to 10 years in the profession, with working hours of 42 hours per week, and work at night. The population studied only a small part suffered accidents at work, with the highest number of accidents occurred on the night shift, and were recorded in Work Accident Report. Regarding the type of accident, most were with piercing and / or sharp object, and the lack of attention and work overload were the main reasons of the accident. Regarding the classification of self-esteem, it was found that most professionals have high self-esteem, and a percentage of workers also has medium and low self-esteem. The univariate analysis of the factors associated with the occurrence of accidents at work, it was observed that smoking, religious belief and the watershed event in the career were significantly associated with the accident. In the analysis of factors associated with self-esteem, it was found that the monthly family income, time of work in the profession and the career milestone event were significantly associated with self-esteem. Thus, it is emphasized that the work accident and the change in self-esteem, can directly affect the physical and mental health of nursing professionals, and thereby compromising the quality of life of these workers. Thus, we see the importance of caring for mental health professionals and the promotion of insurance against accidents at work in hospital settings.

O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a ocorrência de acidentes de trabalho e a autoestima de profissionais de enfermagem em ambientes hospitalares de um município de Minas Gerais. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo-analítico, transversal e quantitativo, desenvolvido com 393 profissionais de enfermagem (enfermeiros, técnicos e auxiliares de enfermagem) que atuavam em três instituições hospitalares. Para levantamento dos dados foram utilizados a Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg e um questionário de caracterização da população, o qual foi submetido ao processo de refinamento e teste piloto. Para análise dos dados foi usado o software Statistical Package for the Social Science, versão 17.0, utilizando-se os testes Qui-quadrado de Person ou Exato de Fisher, Alfa de Cronbach e o odds ratio das variáveis independentes com o acidente de trabalho e com a autoestima, além do modelo de regressão logística. Este estudo obteve aprovação pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Universidade Federal de Alfenas, conforme parecer nº 773.900. Com os resultados, foi possível observar que a maioria dos profissionais é do sexo feminino, com faixa etária de 30 a 39 anos, casados ou convivente com companheiros, possui renda familiar mensal de 1.500 a 3.000 reais, católicos, não consome bebida alcoólica e nem cigarros, não praticam exercícios físicos, não possuem doenças crônicas e não fazem uso de medicamentos contínuos. Com relação à categoria profissional, a maioria é de técnico de enfermagem, com até 10 anos na profissão, com carga horária de trabalho de 42 horas semanais, e trabalham no período noturno. Da população estudada apenas uma pequena parte sofreu acidente de trabalho, sendo que o maior número desses acidentes ocorreu no turno da noite, e foram registrados na Comunicação de Acidentes de Trabalho. Quanto ao tipo de acidente, a maioria foi com objeto perfurante e/ou cortante, sendo que a falta de atenção e a sobrecarga de trabalho foram os principais motivos do acidente. Com relação à classificação da autoestima, verificou-se que grande parte dos profissionais possui autoestima alta, sendo que um percentual dos trabalhadores possui autoestima média e também baixa. Pela análise univariada dos fatores associados à ocorrência de acidente de trabalho, observou-se que o tabagismo, a crença religiosa e o evento marcante na carreira apresentaram associação significativa com o acidente. Já na análise dos fatores associados à autoestima, constatou-se que a renda familiar mensal, o tempo de atuação na profissão e o evento marcante na carreira tiveram associação significativa com a autoestima. Com isso, destaca-se que o acidente de trabalho e a alteração na autoestima, podem interferir diretamente na saúde física e mental dos profissionais de enfermagem, e com isso, comprometer a qualidade de vida desses trabalhadores. Deste modo, percebe-se a importância dos cuidados com a saúde mental dos profissionais e a promoção de segurança contra os acidentes de trabalho nos ambientes hospitalares.Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Minas Gerais - FAPEMIGapplication/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em EnfermagemUNIFAL-MGBrasilEscola de Enfermageminfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Saúde do TrabalhadorEnfermagemEquipe de EnfermagemServiços HospitalaresAcidentes de TrabalhoAutoimagemENFERMAGEM::ENFERMAGEM DE SAUDE PUBLICAAvaliação dos acidentes de trabalho e da autoestima de profissionais de enfermagem em ambientes hospitalaresinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-32045805305363604936006006005647390027954931658-1527361517405938873reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALSantos, Sérgio Valverde Marques DosLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
