After the data collection, the data were analyzed quantitatively by means of a statistical program Pearson’s chi-squared test and Fisher's Exact test to verify the association between informal caregivers' social support with the independent variables, as well as the Cronbach's Alpha and Odds Ratio. Qualitative analysis was performed by Braun and Clarke Thematic Analysis. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Alfenas (064258/2017) It was verified the predominance of female individuals, aged between 36 and 50 years, married / with a partner, Catholic, with monthly family income from two to three minimum wages , complete secondary education, non-smokers and non-alcoholic, that did not engage in physical or recreational activities, and did not work, with a care period of 1.01 to 2 years, an hourly care of up to 5 hours and who lived with the person cared for. There was high overall social level support and the highest average was found in dimension 2 - affective and the lowest in dimension 5 - positive social interaction. It was verified that no independent variable presented statistical association with social support. From the qualitative analysis was built the central theme: Social support for the caregiver in the face of the impotence of cancer and its subtopics: What moves to support; Where the support moves; Perceived and perceived social support. Although the social support perceived by caregivers has been high, caring for a person with stage IV cancer can lead to changes in the caregiver's lifestyle, reduction of social contacts, and abandonment of professional life. On the other hand, assuming the role of caregiver enables people to resignify their lives.

Face a esse panorama, este estudo teve por objetivo analisar o apoio social de cuidadores informais de pessoas em cuidados paliativos por câncer em estágio IV. Trata-se de um estudo com abordagem mista, realizado com 45 cuidadores informais de pessoas com câncer, cadastradas em um serviço de atendimento às pessoas com câncer de um município do sul de Minas Gerais, no período de novembro de 2017 a janeiro de 2018. Foram utilizados três instrumentos: caracterização sociodemográfica, Escala de apoio Social Medical Outcomes Study e roteiro com questões norteadoras. Dados coletados pela pesquisadora em entrevista e diário de campo, realizados por meio de visita domiciliária pré-agendada. Após a coleta os dados foram analisados quantitativamente por meio de programa estatístico com aplicação dos testes Qui Quadrado de Pearson e Exato de Fisher para verificar a associação entre o apoio social dos cuidadores informais com as variáveis independentes, o Alfa de Cronbach e Odds ratio. A análise qualitativa foi realizada pela Análise Temática de Braun e Clarke. O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Universidade Federal de Alfenas (064258/2017). Constatou-se o predomínio de pessoas do sexo feminino, com faixa etária de 36 a 50 anos, casadas/com companheiro, católicas, com renda familiar mensal entre dois e três salários mínimos, ensino médio completo, não-tabagistas e não-etilistas, não praticavam atividades físicas nem lazer, e não exerciam atividades trabalhistas, com tempo de cuidado de 1,01 a 2 anos, carga horária de cuidados de até 5 horas e que residiam com a pessoa cuidada. Evidenciou-se alto nível de apoio social geral, sendo que a maior média foi encontrada na dimensão 2 – afetiva e a menor na dimensão 5 - interação social positiva. Constatou-se que nenhuma variável independente apresentou associação estatística com o apoio social. Da análise qualitativa foi construído o tema central: Apoio social para o cuidador diante da impotência perante o câncer e seus subtemas: O que move para o apoio; Para onde move o apoio; Apoio social percebido e não percebido. Embora o apoio social percebido pelos cuidadores tenha sido alto, cuidar de uma pessoa com câncer em estágio IV pode acarretar mudanças no estilo de vida do cuidador, com redução de contatos sociais, assim como o abandono da vida profissional. Por outro lado, assumir o papel de cuidador possibilita que as pessoas ressignifiquem a sua vida.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em EnfermagemUNIFAL-MGBrasilEscola de Enfermageminfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/CancêrEnfermagemCuidados PaliativosCIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEMApoio social de cuidadores informais de pessoas em cuidados paliativos por câncerinfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-3204580530536360493600600600-77028265330109643272075167498588264571reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALRibeiro, Erika Maria HeringLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
