Resumo: Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting is one of the most frequent adverse effects that cause great suffering for cancer patients. Despite the existence of modern antiemetic drugs, they are not always controlled. Therefore, auriculotherapy represents a potential alternative to control these manifestations, causing little or no discomfort for the patient. This study aimed to synthesize the evidence available in the literature on the effects of auriculotherapy for the control of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) in cancer patients. A systematic review was performed, according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA). Allied and Complementary Medicine Database (AMED), Auriculo Biblio, Virtual Health Library (VHL), Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicines (MTCI Americas) via VHL, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBMdisc), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature ( CINAHL), Chinese Scientific Journals database (CSJD-VIP), Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), EMBASE (via Embase.com), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) via PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science. Ongoing studies were identified through the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP), Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), ClinicalTrials (CT.gov) and Brazilian Registry of Clinical Trials (ReBEC). Reference lists of systematic reviews were also explored. The entire study selection and data extraction process was carried out by two evaluators. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane ROB 2.0 tool. Considering the impossibility of considering the meta-analysis, a systematic narrative synthesis was performed to present the studies included in the review. A total of 1,298 studies were located, 25 of which were included in the qualitative analysis. Auriculotherapy has shown positive results in all clinical trials. Thus, auriculotherapy can be a promising practice for the treatment of CINV in cancer patients. However, the studies showed methodological weaknesses, important reporting flaws, in addition to the fact that most are considered at high risk of bias, which means that the effectiveness of auriculotherapy for the treatment of this condition should be interpreted with caution, especially to indicate its application in clinical practice. Although there is no standardization of the protocols used in the studies, some points were more frequent, including Shenmen, sympathetic, stomach, spleen, liver, cardia and subcortex. Standardized clinical trials, with a robust and well- reported method are still needed to more assertively determine the efficacy of auriculotherapy to control nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Standardized clinical trials, with a robust and well- reported method are still needed to more assertively determine the efficacy of auriculotherapy to control nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing chemotherapy.Náuseas e vômitos induzidos por quimioterapia são um dos efeitos adversos mais frequentes e que mais provocam grande sofrimento para os pacientes com câncer. Apesar da existência de fármacos antieméticos modernos, nem sempre eles são controlados. Diante disso, a auriculoterapia representa uma alternativa potencial para o controle dessas manifestações, causando poucos ou nenhum desconfortos para o paciente. Este estudo teve como objetivo sintetizar as evidências disponíveis na literatura sobre os efeitos da auriculoterapia para o controle de náuseas e vômitos induzidos por quimioterapia (NVIQ) em pacientes com câncer. Foi realizada uma revisão sistemática, de acordo com o Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA). Allied and Complementary Medicine Database (AMED), Biblio Auriculo, Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS), Medicinas Tradicionais, Complementares e Integrativas (MTCI Américas) via BVS, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBMdisc), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Chinese Scientific Journals database (CSJD-VIP), Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), EMBASE (via Embase.com), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) via PubMed, Scopus e Web of Science. Os estudos em andamento foram identificados por meio das plataformas World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP), Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), ClinicalTrials (CT.gov) e Registro Brasileiro de Ensaios Clínicos (ReBEC). Listas de referência de revisões sistemáticas também foram exploradas. Todo processo de seleção dos estudos e extração dos dados foi realizado por dois avaliadores. O risco de viés foi avaliado a partir da ferramenta ROB 2.0 da Cochrane. Considerando a inviabilidade de considerar a metanálise, foi realizada uma síntese narrativa sistemática para apresentar os estudos incluídos na revisão. Um total de 1.298 estudos foram localizados, sendo que 25 foram incluídos na análise qualitativa. A auriculoterapia demonstrou resultados positivos em todos ensaios cínicos. Dessa forma, a auriculoterapia pode ser uma prática promissora para o tratamento de NVIQ em pacientes com câncer. Entretanto, os estudos apresentaram fragilidades metodológicas, importantes falhas no relato, além de a maioria ser considerado de alto risco de viés, o que faz com que a eficácia da auriculoterapia para o tratamento dessa condição deva ser interpretada com cautela, sobretudo para indicar a sua aplicação na prática clínica. Embora não haja uma padronização dos protocolos utilizados nos estudos, alguns pontos foram mais frequentes, incluindo Shenmen, simpático, estômago, baço, fígado, cárdia e subcórtex. Ensaios clínicos padronizados, com método robusto e bem reportados ainda são necessários para determinar com mais asserção a eficácia da auriculoterapia para controle de náuseas e vômitos em pacientes que realizam quimioterapia.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfporUniversidade Federal de AlfenasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em EnfermagemUNIFAL-MGBrasilEscola de Enfermageminfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/AuriculoterapiaNáuseaVômitoQuimioterapiaEnfermagem.CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEMAuriculoterapia para controle de náuseas e vômitos induzidos por quimioterapia em pacientes com câncer: revisão sistemáticainfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion-3204580530536360493600600600-77028265330109643272075167498588264571reponame:Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Alfenas - RiUnifalinstname:Universidade Federal de Alfenas (UNIFAL)instacron:UNIFALPaiva, Eliza Mara Das ChagasLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
