Resumo: The study analyzes the management model of Stricto Sensu graduation programs in universities through the four phases taxonomy of research and development (R&D), as an organizational development variable. We study the concept of organizational strategic management, specifically within universities, considering the R & D as a strategic activity. Therefore, we evaluate the academic model used by universities under the legal and economic perspective, and the role played by R&D in this model, as a strategic variable for public and private universities, identifying the need for these organizations to develop strategic management under the perspective of a new organizational model of knowledge management as a competitive differential. For this purpose, a new taxonomy is established indicating that companies vary from a condition in which the research activity develops incipiently as an organizational activity, towards a condition in which it´s understood as means of promoting economic and social development

Estudamos o conceito de gestão estratégica organizacional, transportando-o conceitualmente para as organizações universitárias, considerando a Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento como atividade estratégica. Para tanto, avaliamos o modelo acadêmico utilizado pelas universidades sob a ótica legal e econômica e o posicionamento da pesquisa neste modelo, identificando a necessidade dessas organizações desenvolverem administração com base na gestão estratégica, sob a perspectiva de um novo modelo organizacional de gestão do conhecimento como diferencial competitivo. Estabelece-se para tanto, uma taxonomia que indica que as empresas evoluem de uma condição na qual a atividade de pesquisa se desenvolve de forma incipiente como atividade organizacional, para uma condição em que a atividade se desenvolve como uma variável promotora do desenvolvimento econômico e social, de onde se procurar depreendera posição das instituições investigadasMade available in DSpace on 2016-04-29T13:54:30Z (GMT).
