The Way of Saint James refers to the route used by the pilgrims that lead to Santiago de Compostela (Spain) since the 9th century, to worship the remains of the apostle Saint James. In Brazil, in the beginning of the 2000s, in the inland of São Paulo, The Sun Way was created, and according to its idealizers, it’s a route that presents references to The Way of Saint James. The aim of the current study is to comprehend the relation between invented tradition and the memory frame in the constitution of The Sun Way (Brazil), having as a reference The Way of Saint James (Spain). The paper is inserted in the Line of Memory Research and Cultural Management, whose conceptual assumptions are the social memory, the invented tradition and the memory framed. Methodologically, it’s presented as an exploratory/descriptive research, using quantitative measures. Nine hospitable people from the Sun Way were interviewed. In the analysis of the material, it was verified similarities between The Way of Saint James and the Sun Way, and this last, looks for, from the experience of the first, through traditions and symbols, its constitution and operation mode. It’s proposed, then, the creation of a mobile application that aims the systematization of information to perform the walk paths.
