Resumo: We show the city of Foz do Iguaçu as it was constituted, suffering the changes so far. One thing is the appearance of the city that also firm up with the idea of modernity. Modernity that is linked to the conditions of industrial development in Brazil. The emergence of the Itaipu Dam, construction and commissioning give new dimensions to the city and society of Foz do Iguaçu. Now that the modern world is overcome by the Technological Revolution of the 80s of the last century, brings new situations with the development of scientific and technological knowledge. That, somehow, will arise with the installation and operation of university programs in the city of Foz do Iguaçu where they fulfill important role in forming citizens for a new society that is emerging in global level. The culmination of this process is the establishment and commissioning of the Federal University of Latin American Integration - UNILA that, within a new paradigm, seeks to work with the issue of interdisciplinary innovative courses to form the Latin American elite, both political and corporate.

Uma coisa é o surgimento da cidade que firma-se também com a ideia da modernidade. Modernidade esta que está atrelada às condições do desenvolvimento industrial do Brasil. O surgimento da Hidrelétrica de Itaipu, sua construção e entrada em funcionamento dão as novas dimensões da cidade e sociedade de Foz do Iguaçu. Agora a modernidade que se encontra superada no mundo pela Revolução Tecnológica da década de 80, do século passado, coloca novas situações com o desenvolvimento do conhecimento científico-tecnológico. Isso, de alguma maneira, vai surgir com a instalação e funcionamento dos cursos universitários na cidade de Foz do Iguaçu onde eles cumprem papel importante no sentido de formar novos cidadãos para uma sociedade que está surgindo em nível global. O ápice desse processo é a constituição e entrada em funcionamento da Universidade Federal da Integração Latino Americana UNILA que, dentro de um novo paradigma, busca trabalhar a questão da interdisciplinaridade com cursos inovadores para formar a elite latino-americana, tanto política quanto empresarial.Made available in DSpace on 2017-07-10T19:07:38Z (GMT).
