Resumo: Maize is an important economic alternative for the farmer. However, consistency throughout the planting process positively affects the quality and therefore the final crop yield. Thus, the aim of the present study was to evaluate the quality of mechanized sowing maize in relation to two depth control mechanisms of the seed unit, and two velocities, from the perspective of statistical process control. The experiment was conducted in the agricultural year 2012/2013 in the experimental area of the Department of Rural Engineering of UNESP/Jaboticabal. We used a randomized block design in a factorial 2 x 2 and 40 replicates within the blocks. The treatments consisted of two depth control mechanisms of the seed unit (Spring/Mechanical and AR/Pneumatic), and two velocities (5.1 km h-1 and 6.2 km h-1). The variables evaluated were: tillage, fuel consumption of the mechanized seeder tractor set and agronomic characteristics of corn. The agronomic characteristics of corn, the best depth control mechanism of the seed unit was with the tire, working on the lower speed. For fuel consumption variables and soil cultivation, it appears that the control system of the mechanism of pneumatic seed double disk in the lower speed (5.1 km h-1), was what we had under control in most of the variables with less variability of results.

Contudo, a regularidade durante todo o processo de semeadura afeta positivamente na qualidade e por consequência na produtividade final da cultura. Dessa forma, objetivou-se no presente trabalho avaliar a qualidade da semeadura mecanizada de milho em função de dois mecanismos de controle de profundidade da unidade de sementes, e duas velocidades de deslocamento, sob a óptica do controle estatístico de processo. O experimento foi conduzido no ano agrícola de 2012/2013 em área experimental do Departamento de Engenharia Rural da UNESP/Jaboticabal. Foi utilizado delineamento em blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 2 x 2, com 40 repetições dentro dos blocos. Os tratamentos foram constituídos por dois mecanismos de controle de profundidade da unidade de sementes (Mecânico e Pneumático), e duas velocidades de deslocamento (5,1 km h-1 e 6,2 km h-1). As variáveis avaliadas foram: mobilização do solo, consumo de combustível do conjunto mecanizado trator semeadora-adubadora e características agronômicas da cultura do milho. Nas características agronômicas da cultura do milho, o melhor mecanismo de controle de profundidade da unidade de semente foi o pneumático, trabalhando-se na menor velocidade.
