Resumo: The aim of this work was to evaluate the arboreal species diversity at PAC built housings and to verify its relationship with the environmental parameters and the electric energy consumption per habitant in differnt seasons of the year (summer and winter). Populational growth has drastically changed as natural as built environments, substituting areas of natural vegetation by edifications and low permeability paving. That environment transformation has doing a great influence on environmental parameters in urban centers. Thus, urban vegetation has been recognized as a sustainable alternative for environmental parameters maintenance. However, social interests’ housings have been developed whit no consideration of weather and environmental features. This work hypothesis is that vegetation presence, as long as its species diversity, can change buildings environmental parameters, influencing electrical energy consumption of PAC (Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento) standards housings. Environmental parameters in different day times, the vegetation characteristics on the streets, species diversity and the electric energy consumption average were analyzed through regression equations in three housings on Presidente Prudente city. Results indicated that, regardless species diversity, the vegetation, mostly trees dimensions, highly interferes on neighborhoods environmental parameters, indirectly lowing theses houses electric energy consumption per habitant

O crescimento populacional tem transformado drasticamente tanto o ambiente natural como o ambiente construído, substituindo áreas de vegetação natural por edificações e pavimentações de baixa permeabilidade. Essa transformação do ambiente tem exercido uma grande influência sobre o conforto térmico em centros urbanos. Nesse sentido, a arborização urbana tem sido reconhecida como uma alternativa sustentável para a manutenção do conforto térmico. No entanto, conjuntos habitacionais de interesse social têm sido construídos sem que as características climáticas e ambientais dos locais sejam consideradas. A hipótese deste estudo é que a presença de arborização, assim como a diversidade de espécies arbóreas, pode alterar o conforto térmico das edificações, influenciando o consumo de energia elétrica de residenciais padrões do PAC (Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento). O conforto térmico em diferentes horários do dia, as características da arborização nas ruas, a diversidade de espécies e a média de consumo de energia elétrica por residente foram analisados por meio de equações de regressão em três conjuntos habitacionais na cidade de Presidente Prudente - SP.
