Despite having been considered an essention curriculum component to Basic Education since 1996, Physical Education is still connected in a hegemonic way to sport content through the teachers. The present study justify itself before the urgent need of turning Physical Education into a legitimate subject in te school atmosphere. For this reason, Oliveira s proposal (2004) works as a guide on the planning of actions once it preconizes a systematization of contents to be worked along the grades, according to the phase of development and student s interest. This work was developed at São Francisco Xavier School among students of High School in Maringa Pr. As a research method, an action research model was adopted working not only as an investigation but also an interference in the investigated situation. The teaching method was based on critical historical Pedagogy, which presents as its proposal the work of contents in a contexture way in order to be used on a darly basis. The prior diagnosis was based on interview performed with the High School teacher. Aside from that, students were supposed to answer questionaries. Later on, classes were planned and tought during 4 months according to methodological principles purposed. The evaluation of actions was done by the reseacher s observation and new interviews and queries at the end of the process. The following results were achieved: there was a significant appreciation on Physical Education and acknowledgement as curriculum component as well. The new status has showed itself as motivating as well as effective to the students, giving the teacher better pedagogic didatic resources, characterizing human motion as something important to be studied.
