Resumo: | This dissertation investigated the integration of environmental education in the Nursing course at the Centro Universitário de UNIFACTHUS - UniFACTHUS, highlighting the importance of Higher Education Institutions in promoting environmental responsibility among students. The study analyzed the incorporation of environmental topics into the curriculum, aiming to foster awareness and socio-environmental responsibility among future professionals. Using a qualitative approach, the research included a comprehensive literature review, encompassing scientific articles, dissertations, theses, books, laws, resolutions, and guidelines related to the theme. Subsequently, a detailed document analysis of the Pedagogical Project of the Course (PPC), Teaching Plans, Institutional Development Plan (PDI), and Curriculum Matrix was conducted, employing textual search tools to identify terms related to curricular environmentalization. The qualitative research provided an in-depth understanding of the experiences and perceptions of the involved stakeholders, such as teachers and students, regarding the integration of environmental themes in the educational context. The objective was to identify how environmental education is addressed in the disciplines, assess the presence of curricular environmentalization in institutional documents, and understand the course coordination's perception of the importance of this integration. The results revealed the extent and methods of incorporating environmental education into the curriculum, providing insights into the benefits and challenges of this practice. The analysis of institutional documents showed that environmental education is integrated in a transversal and interdisciplinary manner, involving various areas of knowledge. The research evidenced that the interdisciplinary approach and transversality are essential for the formation of a graduate profile that is conscious and committed to environmental preservation. Moreover, active participation in extension projects and complementary activities reinforced the students' connection with the community, promoting a culture of sustainability and social responsibility. Curricular environmentalization significantly contributed to the training of professionals capable of facing contemporary environmental challenges. Therefore, this study emphasized the continuous need to promote environmental education at all educational levels, highlighting the fundamental role of Higher Education Institutions in shaping citizens who are conscious and committed to sustainability. The experience of UniFACTHUS serves as an example of how environmental education can be effectively and transformatively integrated into undergraduate curricula, contributing to a more sustainable and equitable future. |

Em seguida, realizou-se uma análise documental detalhada do Projeto Pedagógico do Curso (PPC), dos Planos de Ensino, do Plano de Desenvolvimento Institucional (PDI) e da Matriz Curricular, empregando ferramentas de busca textual para identificar termos relacionados à ambientalização curricular. A pesquisa qualitativa permitiu uma compreensão aprofundada das experiências e percepções dos stakeholders envolvidos, como professores e estudantes, quanto à integração dos temas ambientais no contexto educacional. O objetivo foi identificar como a educação ambiental é abordada nas disciplinas, avaliar a presença da ambientalização curricular nos documentos institucionais e entender a percepção da coordenação do curso sobre a importância dessa integração. Os resultados revelaram a extensão e os métodos de incorporação da educação ambiental no currículo, proporcionando insgihts sobre os benefícios e desafios dessa prática. A análise dos documentos institucionais mostrou que a educação ambiental é integrada de forma transversal e interdisciplinar, envolvendo diversas áreas do conhecimento. A pesquisa evidenciou que a abordagem interdisciplinar e a transversalidade são essenciais para a formação de um perfil de egresso consciente e comprometido com a preservação ambienta. Além disso, a participação ativa em projetos de extensão e atividades complementares reforçou a conexão dos estudantes com a comunidade, promovendo uma cultura de sustentabilidade e responsabilidade social. A ambientalização curricular contribuiu significativamente para a formação de profissionais capacitados para enfrentar os desafios ambientais contemporâneos. Portanto, este estudo ressaltou a necessidade contínua de promover a educação ambiental em todos os níveis de ensino, destacando o papel fundamental das Instituições de Educação Superior na formação de cidadãos conscientes e comprometidos com a sustentabilidade.
