Brazilian agriculture has undergone intense transformations since the mid-twentieth century, among which the most intense phase of its modernization process (1960-70) stands out, which placed Brazil among the main world players in agribusiness, but also expanded the productive heterogeneity and economic in the Brazilian rural environment. In this, the study seeks to portray the history of technologies and their impacts on social relations in rural areas in the municipality of Marau - RS - in particular, in the communities of Laranjeira and Cachoeirão. The research problem revolves around understanding the dynamics of agriculture and its relationships in the municipality of Marau, as well as analyzing the trajectory of families in rural areas and the factors that led to the modernization of the property. The relevance of the theme is based on the fact that Marau is a heavily agricultural municipality where the analysis crosses the historical process since modernization began to be introduced in agriculture on rural properties and shows a constant evolution over the years, we also analyze the profile of each family, the ways in which they produce and diversify their property, the history of this modernization process, the transformations that occurred in social relations and production with the introduction of technologies, credit promoted by the State, the social, economic and environmental implications of this model of modernization. We also seek to analyze the process of family succession and the influence of the school on the formation of young people and, finally, understand how technological changes are interfering in their children's education, the teacher's role in this scenario and learning relationships. The study's conclusions indicate that the farmer is in a constant process of modernization and seeks to qualify himself to meet market demands and diversify his property.
