The objective of this dissertation was to identify activities developed by the family and professionals so that 2 to 4 years-old deafblind children could participate on a mobility and orientation program. Activities that stimulated and facilitated body recognition by congenital deafblind children were listed, as well as the adaptations utilized by them to initiate their locomotion at family and school environments. It was based upon authors such as: Cormedi (2005), Riggio et al. (1999), Sense International (2008), Gense et al. (2004), who focused on the challenge in establishing a consistent mean of communication and offer autonomy and independence to the congenital deafblind child; on the ones who deepened their studies about the professionals, family members and/or caregivers of congenital deafblind children needs; among them Masini (2002), Hill et al. (1984) and Michael et al. (1987. To investigate the requirements for the participation of this child on the mobilization and orientation program interviews with teacher and family members e/or caregivers were conducted. The research subjects were selected from and institutions specialized in assisting deafblind children, being selected by criteria established by three pedagogues who practice teaching congenital deafblind children associated to ADefAV and three of these children family members e/or caregivers. Data analysis showed both groups, professionals and family members, had notions on dealing with deafblind children engaged in certain types of activities. Data from analyzed interviews, on the other hand, pointed out the need to more information and clarifications about the mobility and orientation program, just as the need to better structured and functional activities developed during the child s daily routine and in every single context of their life, so that they can have conditions to participate in a mobility and orientation program.
