Resumo: The built complex of the Matarazzo Complex expose itself not only as a bearer of the city's memory, but also as privileged place to undestand the social dynamics that participated in the intense urbanization process in São Paulo from the turno of the 19th to the 20th century. This research is based on a case study that establishes the hypothesis of its transformation from an urban derelict land to a place for the enjoyment of city dwellers in the centrality of the metropolis. The person-environment interrelations of these buildings listed by the historical heritage and their suitability for new and diferente uses and functions will be part of this investigation. The research seeks to establish a productive collaboration, fostering a partnership between the various types of knowledge involved, with a interdisciplinar approach.
