Resumo: This study aims to understand how the dynamic managerial capacity contributes to the longevity of a family business. With the results of this research, it is expected to collaborate understanding the profile and the education of the family business manager. Also aims to understand if the tree dimensions (human capital, social capital and cognitive capital) of the dynamic managerial capacity may influence the business longevity. It is also expected to improve the understanding of managerial dynamic capacity as a concept and construct from the perspective of dynamic resource-based view (RBV), as well as the application of the concept, an issue that is not found in the academic strategy literature in Brazil.
